The location of this resort is lovely, but, unfortunately, it is in desperate need of an update in every way. Furniture in rooms, carpet, lamps, everything needs a refresh. Halls and common areas are very musty smelling. Customer service at the front desk by Christonapos (not sure of the spelling) was absolutely terrible and it wasn't just with my husband and me. We overheard him be rude with several other customers. Valerie was pleasant when we were finally able to check-in. I would not return to this resort.

A completely awful visit to the spa. Upon arrival the carpets are dirty. The place smells moldy and whole facility needed updating about 5 years ago. All the pool loungers are old, worn out, dirty and gross. This was my first and last visit to this place. My daughter flew in to help celebrate my special birthday and what a disaster. We had planned to spend around 4 hours here but left immediately after our treatment. My facial with Crystal was good and the only positive. My daughter had booked a hot stones massage. The therapist forgot the stones and were offered a$5.95 compensation as an insult! The robes we were given I would have thrown out long ago. Holes under the arms and threadbare. Flip flops were too rotten to wear. We kept our own sandals on. This is not an inexpensive place and we definitely did not get what we expected. I emailed management the following day. After 5 days I have not even received a response. Not a good way to spend my birthday. Very upsetting.

Our forever friend group who’ve been a pack since the 70’s just celebrated us all turning 60 this year at The Safety Harbor Spa. We all had different treatments. I had a facial this time. I must brag on my esthetician,Crystal. She made it the most relaxing experience. Previous facials I have felt like a human pin cushion. From the moment I got into the chair I felt relaxed. Rejuvenated at 60! Yay. We enjoyed the restaurant and dined Al fresco. Anna was our server. She was fabulous. We enjoyed the summer salad, salmon with orzo, & beef sandwich. All was delicious. The mineral springs were relaxing and the sunny 80’s vibes at the outdoor pool were fun. Such a great experience for bridal parties, bachelorette groups, friends like us, couples.

Went on the weekend in August for wedding anniversary stay. The lap pool was quiet, serene. The party area was the back hotel pool with the tiki bar. We had a spacious, comfortable room that faced the pool area. The front desk staff were friendly, helpful. The hotel was built in the 1920's and there is a room in the back with articles and pictures of the hotels history. They have an amazing Sunday brunch. Beautiful place.

Stayed for eight nights for work, and I hope I won't have to go back. The hotel itself is old and tired, but, in reality, it would not be bad, as the Spa, Gym and Pools, while aging and often malfunctioning, are still better that what what you normally gets in most hotels. Unfortunately, the Safety Harbor Resort and Spa also features some of my hotel pet peeves, and I am quite sensitive to those as I spend more than 100 nights per year in hotels: on-demand room cleaning, unhelpful front desk staff and complete neglect of loyalty-related benefits. Specifically - I find the on-demand room cleaning to be a scam, and awfully annoying. Still, most hotel that engage in this irritating practice will let you book it once and for all at check in. Not the Safety Harbor Resort and Spa. I was told in no uncertain terms that I had to pass by reception or call every morning to request it. This is just bad customer service, and for no reason at all. Also - the front desk personnel were mostly unhelpful and indifferent. They lost track of my laundry, declared that there was nothing that could be done, only to find out in the morning that it has been there since the night before. Good that I had an extra shirt. Lastly - there was no recognition whatsoever as a Wyndham Rewards Diamond. I was, in theory, entitled to an upgrade up to a suite, and was not even upgraded to slightly a better room. I got no welcome amenity, and was refused a late check out (even on a Sunday in low season). So, basically, I got absolutely nothing. All in all, a bad example of customer service that ruined an otherwise acceptable stay.
