Stayed for eight nights for work, and I hope I won't have to go back. The hotel itself is old and tired, but, in reality, it would not be bad, as the Spa, Gym and Pools, while aging and often malfunctioning, are still better that what what you normally gets in most hotels. Unfortunately, the Safety Harbor Resort and Spa also features some of my hotel pet peeves, and I am quite sensitive to those as I spend more than 100 nights per year in hotels: on-demand room cleaning, unhelpful front desk staff and complete neglect of loyalty-related benefits. Specifically - I find the on-demand room cleaning to be a scam, and awfully annoying. Still, most hotel that engage in this irritating practice will let you book it once and for all at check in. Not the Safety Harbor Resort and Spa. I was told in no uncertain terms that I had to pass by reception or call every morning to request it. This is just bad customer service, and for no reason at all. Also - the front desk personnel were mostly unhelpful and indifferent. They lost track of my laundry, declared that there was nothing that could be done, only to find out in the morning that it has been there since the night before. Good that I had an extra shirt. Lastly - there was no recognition whatsoever as a Wyndham Rewards Diamond. I was, in theory, entitled to an upgrade up to a suite, and was not even upgraded to slightly a better room. I got no welcome amenity, and was refused a late check out (even on a Sunday in low season). So, basically, I got absolutely nothing. All in all, a bad example of customer service that ruined an otherwise acceptable stay.

We had an awesome stay at Safety Harbor Resort & Spa. The hotel and it's properties are highly maintained and very clean. It was very quiet during sleep hours. Their swimming pools were great. They have one outdoor pool near the tiki bar and kids are allowed in this one only. The two hot tubs and indoor pool and outdoor lap pool are in the spa area and they don't allow kids under 16. (Yeah). Pools are mineral springs water & salt and did not cause us any skin reactions like chlorine does. Safety Harbor is located on north Tampa Bay and is a very scenic area. We look forward to coming back.

Can someone tell me who is managing the tiki bar at safety harbor spa? I mean who gets rid of coke for Pepsi? I smell kickback?? Then gets rid of bottled wine and great beer for tap wine? Who drinks tap wine? It’s horrible. If that’s not enough, whatever clown this is has not realized that summer is slow in Florida. They got more bartenders and bar backs than customers. Bleeding this poor place to death I’m sure with payroll they don’t need. Hope they wake up soon before it’s too late. Used to love it here but WTH

Love this place - love the town! We have ben coming fro ten plus years from Sarasota. We will continue to come as long as prices stay affordable.

I just happened to stumble upon this place that the locals retreat to on special occasions or just to get away from it all for a weekend. It’s amazing! I’ll give you a heads up I didn’t realize. It’s a little more out of the way than I expected, and if you aren’t renting a car or driving there, then you are going to need to Uber if you want to go outside of Safety Harbor. You are closest to Clearwater, 20 minutes from Tampa. Safety Harbor is totally walkable and safe, and lots to do there.
