Frozen in the 50’s and not very clean

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 2 days ago

In dire need of updating and thorough sanitizing. Rude personnel that were not at all helpful. Noisy A/C. Awful food. Needs more directional sign work.

Avoid! Horrible experience!!

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 4 weeks ago

I booked thru Wyndham directly, a non-refundable rate. Arrived at the hotel at 9pm with confimation number and payment details and was told they would not give me the room i had paid for unless i paid them again as their computer system had not been updated. Still sitting in the lobby as i am not going to pay $449 for 1 night that is supposed to be $244. They have rooms available but are demanding i pay 2x - after driving 5 hours to get here this is a terrible way

WELLNESS retreat!

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 1 month ago

I participated in the mini “Wellness Retreat”. I wanted to attend ASAP. I called on a Tuesday and they welcomed me on Wednesday to stay through Saturday (exceptional response time and customer service). I needed a restart/reset mentally, emotionally and physically. The Wellness Retreat exceeded my expectations. On the day I arrived I was greeted by Mary (an exceptional planner and an amazing person). She was prompt to respond to my every need and even knew what activities were best for me individually. John the personal trainer, Wendy the Pilates and Yoga instructor, the herbal wrap, Ian the masseuse, the deep cleansing facial, standing core, meditation, foot massage, fitness assessment (Mary), and stretching (Mary)….were incredible. Shannon who provided the hands on stretch (this doesn’t even begin to describe the vastness of this service, it is so much more) was phenomenal. She is truly gifted at what she does and puts so much care into her work…..as all of the teachers, trainers and team did. I was able to do as much or as little as I liked. The food was very good and prompt. They also prepared it just the way I liked it. The price for the retreat was more than reasonable. The amenities were clean. Room service and housekeeping were very customer oriented. My room had a beautiful view and was very spacious. They treat you like family and personalize everything. I have learned so much and feel rejuvenated. I highly recommend this retreat!

The good, the bad , and the ugly

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 1 month ago

We recently stayed two weeks as we do annually in Feb. The hotel has improved YoY. We had a nice stay with family. Yet, things are still occasionally off. I wrote the letter below sent by email on Saturday, February 22, 2025 at 10:16:15 PM EST. .At check out, Ms. Amlaw, the Assistant GM, acknowledge receipt but had not had time to review/ respond. i then followed three times there has never been a response. Here is letter: The Good, the Bad, and the Ugly Good Morning Ms. Amlaw, I have a variety of requests and comments. For my reservations for 202x please modify the as follow The resy for 2xx+y should read William (Jxxx) The resy for 2xx (or 3xx) should read William (Axxx) The resy for 3xx is for Anne . Her Info is on file. annexxxxx@gmail.com 302xxxxxx. Please send a reservation confirmation to her (cc to me appreciated) The Good- #The staff is polite, friendly and responsive #The massage staff is very good #The pool food service is appreciated #The exercise facilities are fine #The rooming cleaning staff is helpful and efficient The Bad: #The Fountain Grille dinner service by the kitchen is very slow #The massage waiting rooms are unusually and uncomfortable cold. I have mention this for years yet it never changes #The area between the spa indoor pool and the men's locker room is beat up (and has been for my last few visits) and need a sprucing up The Ugly - #Twice our TV link to streaming channels has not worked. The first time, three staff at different times had to come to fix. We were told the system got overloaded and a staff person chose to turn 324's along with others off. The second time (this evening Sat, 2/22), both TVs lack streaming. I tried to call the front desk but the phones do not work either. I went to the front desk where I was given the login and password to the network. HOWEVER, upon returning to my room, I could not find anywhere to entry this information. I went back to the desk (at 915 pm) and left an angry note. The offer was made to send someone up to help, but given your staff's track record on non-success and the late hour (we were in sleepwear). I declined. This should not happen at all. I expect a small discount for both the lack of a functioning TV and the hassle #Ugly #2- the Spa registration desk personnel are untrained. When registering for our first treatments', the staff did not know how to handle the Bay Breeze coupons. A second person was called upon and also failed. The manger was called upon to resolve and teach (on a guests time). Ten days later, when again I was registering, it was a repeat with untrained staff (different newbies) unable to handle my registration. When my wife registered, it was worse; they did not take the coupons and said the the massage was paid for already. I had to go down post her massage to straighten out; this time I skipped the newbies and directly asked for the manager. While smiling and thanking me for presenting a learning moment to her staff; walked them through how it should be done. This should not be done repeatedly on a guests time. I await the changes to next year reservations and your comments. Respectfully

Not worth the price!

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 3 months ago

The room was shabby and in need of repairs and renovation. I have stayed in far nicer rooms at much less expensive hotels. In order to get fresh towels and have the trash emptied, we had to call housekeeping by 10 a.m. or there was no service at all. The check in, parking and spa related staff were rude and not particularly helpful. (The restaurant staff was great.) I observed one guest being told he could have only two towels for the pool despite having four people in his party—he finally was able to find a staff person who would give him the towels. The location and setting were lovely, but I would not recommend the hotel. We booked through Hotels.com and I wonder if that influenced the room we were assigned.
