We have stayed here multiple times over the last ten years and really sad to say the last twice, standards have rapidly declined. Service is poor with staff inattentive to guests. In the bar, having to seek out staff to order drinks as opposed to staff being aware guests are waiting. Breakfast service was awful, plates left lying on table, not explained food could be ordered with someone cominv over to ask if we wanted to order 40 minutes after we had been there. Room was ok but needs attention - left kirkhie grips on floor and a paper bag left over the light - unsure why this wasn’t spotted by cleaning staff. Cracked floor tiles in bathroom too. Disappointing service with card being charged before check out meaning we were charged for things we didn’t have then having to wait 3-4 days for refund - guests cards should not be charged before they have confirmed at check out these belong to them Overall really disappointed- this would have been our go to for special family occasions but unsure if we will now return as opposed to looking to go else where For five stars really need to look at quality of service

We had a 2 night B and B break here. Hotel was as amazing as it looks. From check in to check out, meals, drinks, etc the staff were all polite, attentive and friendly. Hotel is spotless in all areas and hubby most impressed with swimming pool and changing rooms. Our room was spacious and had everything we required in terms of tea, coffee and so on. Also a mini bar if required. Bathroom was roomy with a shower and bath. Only downside was bath took ages to fill. Towels large and fluffy and dressing gowns if needed. We ate at St Andrews bar and also in the main hotel - meals were delicious. Loads of choice at breakfast too. We both agreed we would definitely return and it’s moved up to the top in terms of fav hotels.

Just back from a weekend stay. The hotel is lovely, Staff very friendly and helpful and food was good. Be aware when you book, that they allow dogs to stay and they are not put in a separate area. We were in the room next to a dog that barked non stop, woke us up at 7am barking and kept us awake after 11pm barking. It then cried in the afternoon when left alone to the point we had to leave the room and didnt get to really enjoy it. They describe themselves as a luxurious and relaxing hotel but our stay was anything but relaxing. Not what I expected after paying a lot of money to stay here, certainly wouldnt pay all that money and stay here again.

A lovely hotel, but overheated. Mediocre breakfast and very poor service. Room service order of sandwiches had been forgotten and never arrived.

We had a great overnight, the room was lovely, stunning view & comfortable bed. Staff are very friendly & a great asset to the hotel. We used the pool facilities which were nice but I was a little underwhelmed I expected this area to be more luxurious. The hotel itself is beautiful & in a good location & they offer a shuttle bus into St.Andrews. Our biggest disappointment was our dinner in the hotel’s restaurant, it was bland & below average for this standard of hotel I expected far better quality & it really let our stay down. Breakfast was great, great choice of items. Overall a great stay, I would return but I wouldn’t eat in the restaurant again.
