With a distinct charm only found in the West Indies, Grenada is known for its tranquil bays, gentle island breezes, warmhearted and welcoming vibe. Secluded by verdant green hills on the south coast, the much anticipated Six Senses La Sagesse sits between a crescent shaped bay and L'Anse Pere ocean front, set around a shimmering lagoon. The newly built and sustainably driven resort mimics a picturesque Caribbean village, influenced by the region’s traditional architecture. There are 56 pool suites, combining eco-credentials and comfort all with outdoor terraces leading to a private plunge pool. 15 villas enjoy a prime hillside or oceanfront setting, ranging between one, two, and four bedrooms. The five four-bedroom villas located on a Bluff offer a 270-degree view of one of the most coveted locations in the Caribbean. This jewel is bursting with things to do and places to explore for the whole family.

We're huge fans of the Six Senses brand and have been going to their properties around the world for over a decade. Six Senses La Sagesse is the 7th SS property we have stayed at and its true to its SS DNA. Six Senses is a destination hotel brand, meaning you dont go to the place and just stay at a SS, you go to a SS with the added benefit of the fact that its located in a place that you might also enjoy. SS La Sagesse is located at a bay and cliff that has amazing views. I know some folks are complaining about this place not having a beach. I guess these folks must have missed the unique black sand beach that's always empty. We had it all to ourselves everytime we went for a stroll. Not to swim in to be sure, but beautiful. Its the staff that made our stay amazing. They figured we were the "gonna chill and mostly do nothing" types of travelers and just let us be. The food was great and the service by the entire staff the usual Six Senses best! I also enjoyed the gym, which is huge. ANd we loved our spa treatments. If you're looking for a Six Senses experience closer to home in the US, you cant go wrong with La Sagesse.

It all started when I began to research for an exotic British West Indies Island to celebrate our friend's 50th birthday. While browsing through hotels in the Caribbean, I noticed Six Senses opened up in Grenada, and I was super excited as I had experienced their amazing properties in Portugal and Rajasthan, India. So, we all instantly booked here. A few weeks before the trip, I started to get worried about some of the recent reviews about the nearby construction of the Intercontinental resort. So, I panicked and changed our stay to a different resort. But then, I exchanged a few emails with the amazing reservation staff at Six Senses, Ashanti James & Afiya Williams. I loved how promptly they answered my questions and cleared my fear about construction noise. I owe them both a big thanks for changing my mind to move back my reservation to staying at Six Senses La Sagesse. We stayed 5 wonderful days there, and honestly, I don't have the right words to explain our experience of staying there. First, the construction next door is a total non-issue for us, and we didn't even notice it except while walking on the beach. Even then, it was all quite plus, why would I look at it when I am walking on the beach? I will look at what is wonderful to look at. The beach and the coconut grove at La Sagesse Hotel and the cliff at Six Senses are located. The property grounds look stunning with lush green landscaping and so many varieties of plants and trees. The best part is that they paid so much attention to keeping the native plants and trees blend so well into the landscape. The property will only get more amazing each year as the trees grow. The views from the Panoramic Oceanview Suites are jaw-dropping. It was so nice walking down to the restaurants from up there, and I also enjoyed long morning walks all around the property. Especially, around the wonderful lake where the highlight of the property sits. Spa! No words can express how mesmerizing their spa and the service there are. Oh, that aroma!! It still lingers in my senses. The food varies from good to excellent. Better to stick with the items cooked with local ingredients like seafood and veggies. The roasted vegetables at breakfast are my favorite part of the breakfast. The entire setup near the beach, pools, library, boutique store, Scoop Cafe, Sushi restaurant, and water activities area is full of an energetic vibe. And the Atlantic breeze makes you never want to leave the resort. The views of nearby tall mountains, always in clouds, set up a very peaceful atmosphere to relax and unwind. Sitting in the plunge pool in our room and taking in the sound of the Atlantic Ocean and the white surf felt like medication. The little touches like delicious cookies, nuts, and the local snacks were icing on the cake. Finally, the staff!! Yes, a lot of well-reviewed resorts and B&B places have amazing staff, but what sets Six Senses apart is how happy everyone who works there looks. They were always excited to help you and share local tips, and arrange for anything we asked for. Our GEM staff, Leslian, kicked off our stay at Six Senses with so many positive vibes. She surprised us by getting us Mangoes and Wax Apples when she found out our love for tropical fruits. We missed her the last two days of her stay. I can go on and on praising this wonderful gem of a place in the Caribbean. Now that I have visited most of the West Indies Islands, I have to say Six Senses made Grenada my favorite vacation destination in the world. Looking forward to going back there and enjoying relaxing in my Spice Suite 56, listening to the Atlantic Ocean!

My sister and I had the wonderful opportunity to spend a night at Six Senses La Segesse and had a spectacular time. From the moment of our arrival, where we were welcomed by the wonderful staff (welcome ritual) to the moment we departed (departure ritual), we were treated with the warmest hospitality ever. Thank you to the staff, especially Raquel ("Francine"), William and Dwayne and the many more we could mention. Even the welcome from Paloma, the GM, and the friendly feline visitor made us feel special. Our accommodations were exceptional, with a stunning ocean view and wonderful lap pool for a morning dip. Everything was well appointed--from the matching robes and slippers, to the much needed rain coats for the unexpected rain showers. From the golf cart rides to and fro, the great sushi lunch, the tasty and generous breakfast, or the taste test at Scoops, we felt really attended to. Everyone was concerned with the enjoyment of our stay and appreciated the feedback we provided. This was a special ending to our time in Grenada. Unfortunately we did not have more time to spend and take full advantage of what Six Senses La Segesse has to offer.

Stop reading reviews and reserve your rooms (or villa) immediately! I just signed up for Tripadvisor just to leave this review. My friends and I just spent an absolutely incredible week here and cannot say enough good things about the location, the food, the staff and the overall atmosphere. The moment we arrived we were greeted with genuine happiness, authentic smiles and a sense of relaxation. Throughout the stay we interacted with at least 30 different team members and that feeling was also conveyed each and every time. There is no "manufactured" experience here, each and every person is genuinely excited to help make your day just a little bit better than expected. Paloma and her team have put together something they should all be extremely proud of. Thank you to everyone at Six Senses for allowing us to be a part of your world for the week. Keep up the amazing work! -Ben
