Reviews for Six Senses La Sagesse

best day ever!

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 3 days ago

From the moment we drove onto the property, you could feel the chill, luxurious energy of Six Senses. You truly don’t have to lift a finger—except maybe to drink your fresh coconut water (and then hand it back so they can crack it open, add brown sugar, and make it even better 😮‍💨). The grounds are stunning, the staff is unreal, and the red sangria… genuinely one of the best I’ve ever had (and I love red sangria). Lunch was a win (the tuna packet = delish), the garden is full of fresh fruits and veggies, and the fitness spaces—outdoor and indoor—are top tier (Technogym heaven). The spa ambiance alone is wow, even just touring it. The water sports crew was amazing— Brett David Ece Sherman & Mylen were a few of the staff that made the day so relaxing and care free and memorable! Everyone remembers your name, making the experience feel so personal—not just here, but all over the island. The locals are incredibly friendly, the excursions are a must, and the island itself is absolutely stunning. Plus, Ginger and Bunny—the sweetest resident kitties—made my heart melt 🐱🤍 Between the views, the apothecary where you can make your own lip balm and hand creams, bikes, water sports, and endless things to do, there’s truly something for everyone. Highly, highly recommend 🌴✨

Stunning views

My husband and I spent our honeymoon here! The views of the bay and ocean were spectacular and our room was very luxurious. The staff went out of their way to make this stay incredible, we truly enjoyed getting to know each and every one.

Enjoyed stay, but this is more of a pool resort than beach. Great food & nice staff. Read details below.

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 5 days ago

Overall we had a very positive experience which was highlighted by the delicious food, helpful staff, and enjoying the spa facilities. I would recommend staying here but there are things to take note of for both pros and cons: Pros: -Every room has a plunge pool! Ours had terrific ocean views. -Food was really good! -Staff tried to go above and beyond, constantly checking on you ( during our stay they did outnumber the guests by a lot). -Does have two beaches, allowing for decent beach walks. -Decent spa (sauna, steam room, cold plunge) and gym. More reasonable spa rates than most other properties we’ve been too. -Cats! Staff seems to take good care of them -Beach front is very different and “raw” (blue Atlantic Ocean vs bright blue Caribbean Sea) -Water was warm, ocean had soft sandy bottom and easy gradual entry (though across the 4 days there, we didn’t see more than a handful of other guests swim!) -very quiet, almost too quiet -3 restaurants -Free ice cream! Free water! -Other complementary activities at the spa, evening cocktail hour, etc -Their app is very helpful for making requests to the front desk. Cons: -As you walk around, it feels like a lot of concrete . -Despite being less than 2 years old, design of pool area and rooms feel out of date (not that the furniture is tired, just that it looks not like a new luxury hotel’s furniture) -Rooms are pretty spread out so it can be 5-10 mins walk to the main area depending on where your room is. Unlike other resorts where they have golf carts, the staff wizzed past you and not once stopped to ask if we would like a ride. We did have our waitress at dinner 2 nights ask if we wanted a ride home and after our spa, but never while we were walking across the hot property. -As you may know, there is construction of the Intercontinental Hotel next-door. You can’t actually see if from the property despite being so close (likely intentionally planned since they are both IHG) can’t hear anything over the waves, it does currently ruin the view from the beach. While this is open would be nice to have trees back along the water and another dining option. -More of a pool hotel, even more so than I expected they really don’t embrace their waterfront at all. -Main beach only has 5 sets of beach chairs on a fake beach with rocks blocking entrance to the water. (you need a better beach entrance! No need for the fake white sand!) -You need to walk to the edge of the property, into the construction zone to get into the water (which is worth it because it’s warm and lovely!). -A lot of gimmicks that I personally feel are a waste of their energy till the resort is busier and that should be redirected to having an entrance from the resort into the ocean. (ie: a class of beeswax wrap making, having to grate a nutmeg at checkout, etc). -They give better locations to all their “labs” (ie: scrub making lab, fermentation lab) and not their reception. We like when first impression is a wow, and the reception entrance area was very underwhelming and old looking. -They ask for feedback A LOT, almost an uncomfortable amount. There is a line between asking if we need assistance with anything and asking for direct feedback on what they need to do better multiple times per day. I am happy to share feedback (hence this post), but it makes me uncomfortable having to say it to a staff member who likely doesn’t have control while we are trying to have a relaxing day.

Beautiful hotel in remote location

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 1 week ago

Had a great stay at La Sagesse! Positives: -- Gorgeous, very spacious room with amazing view and private pool -- Very friendly and accommodating staff -- Lovely restaurants with excellent food, though note that there are no casual options, except poolside -- Beautiful grounds and pools Less positive: -- Hotel is on the Atlantic side of Grenada, so there are waves. We rarely saw anyone in the water and never saw anyone sitting on the beach. We went to the Caribbean side of the island to go to the beach. -- Hotel is located in a relatively remote corner of Grenada, and it's a 45-minute, $110 round trip taxi ride to everything that you want to do off property. Room rates reflect this, though. Be aware: IHG is building a good-sized Intercontinental hotel immediately adjacent to the Six Senses, which is scheduled to open in late 2026 or early 2027. Construction noise was not a particular issue -- but there were will obviously be a change in vibe when the new hotel opens. Could be good (e.g., more dining options, more active beach scene), but could be bad (e.g., more crowded restaurants).

"Expensive" doesn't always mean "Better"

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 2 weeks ago

Ahhhhhhhhh Top of the Year and for my first trip of 2026 I landed back in GRENADA for the 2nd time. If you read my reviews this time last year I visited the "Spice Island" and stayed at another well known resort and well....You can read that review. So here we go...Expectations High, Reviews were great and the accommodations appeared to be higher than standard..The Price....Ohhhh that price...Not for the faint of heart but I went for it. And...Here. We. Go Where do we start...well the beginning. I landed fairly late and after travelling from NY on a 5hr flight and making my way through the twist and turns of Grenadian road in a rental car I finally pulled up to the Six Sense in the midst of sunset. I was met by what I would classify as the hands down BEST representative of the entire resort. Her name was Ann Marie. She greeted me with a smile and a good amount of information, assisted in the check in process and gave me a tour of my villa upon arrival. She would essentially be the direct liaison my entire stay. Checked up on me daily and assisted with any and all information as needed. Her customer care service was top tier. Now lets discuss the details.. Accommodations/Grounds The Grounds I must give the staff who have curated the vegetation on the grounds the upmost round of applause. There are lush and vast vegetation all around. Banana Trees, Frangipani scent in the air, beautiful flowers and plants all through the resort all incredibly well maintained and sorted around. Makes a walk through the property worth it just to look around and breath in the fresh air. Never did I see an abandoned cup or any debris anywhere. Place was spotless and again this is certainly due to the hard work of the grounds men and woman who I saw daily maintaining the grounds Villa One word...WOW! Massive main room with a beautiful modern interior design. Double sliding glass doors which lead out to the deck and access to the plunge pool. 2 sitting chairs, a small table and 2 beach chairs with cushions, 1 massive umbrella for some shade when needed. Inside the bathroom a beautiful deep porcelain bathtub placed in front of a 7ft glass window for views while you relax. A double vanity sink with a massive mirror and lots of natural and electric LED lighting. Huge standing shower with hand held and overhead rainfall style shower head encased with glass doors. Main room had a sofa for relaxing and a 48inch flat screen TV. Mini bar/Fridge included. A tea pot (Very high tech) and coffee maker. Some fresh fruit and small snacks (Nuts). Glass bottles with water filled daily. Inside the fridge 2 local beers and a can of coke. Working AC and a Ceiling Fan. CONS: - Bed size is a Queen Size - Snacks were NOT replenished...Ever. - Cleaning service wasn't consistent. I made my own bed for at least 5 days of my stay...I don't blame the service team I just think the staff is overwhelmed at times. - The Private Pool (Which is a Key Selling Feature) is NOT heated. Literally depending on the Sun to heat the water so out of a 7 night stay I used it twice and it was still cold. In addition the pool in my villa had no working lights in it when the evening came. I was told there are no lights in the pools but I came across a few that clearly had working lighting sooooo ummmm uhhhh Yeah. Unless its the middle of summer I would not recommend splurging on a plunge pool villa because you wont be using it. Very Disappointed. SPA/GYM I literally spent every single day in the gym here. Every morning I would take a walk and check in. Its not huge but its spacious and has some pretty great equipment. Good free weights and machines. 3 Bikes, 2 treadmills, a sprinters treadmill and one Elliptical. In another room there were yoga classes and some specialty fitness classes as well. In the SPA area there is a Dry sauna (Which wasn't on for 2 days when I wanted to go in not sure why. A Main heated pool and some smaller pools as well (Cold water, Jacuzzi style etc) a Very Zen-ish resting area and steam saunas inside the respective locker rooms for men & woman. Facility was very clean and worth the visit. I did not take part in any of the massages. Felt a bit expensive for the short time of an experience so I skipped that. FOOD/RESTURANTS First let me go ahead and say what needs to be said.... The Menu is EXTREMLEY.....Oooooooooverpriced! Lets star with breakfast at Callaloo Restaurant. At first glance it appears to have a good spread but make no mistake there are lots of flaws. There is a small selection of daily hot foods. Bacon/Sausage (Only Pork) and I don't eat pork so that didn't help me at all. Scrambled Eggs and Salads. For one on one occasion I reached under the light lamp to grab the serving utensil for some green leafy salad when off of the top flew a lot of tiny little bugs. Daily there are roasted veg options like Roasted Carrot, Pumpkin, Beet etc...Sounds great but they were always COLD. No heat lamps over the food to A- Keep the food Warm and B- Protect it from bugs. There is also a menu to choose from with French toast, omlettes etc. but to be honesty its a matter of who is the chef that day because the style and flavors weren't consistent. Now back to that price... $50usd per person. Sorry but that's ridiculous. The good..Well.... Daily fresh juices. Facility was clean, Ambiance was nice. The service from Racquelle who is the host and Sheronee (Waitress) daily was pleasant. Always smiling and checking on you to see if you needed anything. SEAFIRE Grill / Callaloo (Dinner) Ate here 1x. Had a great waitress named Rochel. Old Fashioned I had made at the bar was "Ok" at best and the food was Mid...But that price...Ohhh that menu price.... Needs serious updating. You literally can bank on spending $120usd - $150usd Average per day, Per meal at this resort. I ate at Callaloo twice because after the first night I was impressed with the lobster cake appetizer and the grilled barracuda I had...Came back the next night for the same dish and it was noticeably different in taste, portion and preparation. For what its worth that was it for me. I spent the next few remaining nights walking to the resort next door eating at the restaurant there. Food was 100x better, Prices were very reasonable and there were more local dishes on the menu. The Beach Not really an option. The sand wasn't pleasant, Not sure if it was due to the tide or what but wasn't really curated for sitting out on the sand and relaxing although it seems the resort built a small section with chairs and imported some sand where you can take in some views and chill. With that said Big thanks to Dexter and Bob who were the poolside attendants and providers of the water gear if you are looking for things to do. Very lively local guys who had high energy and seemed to enjoy greeting guest and entertaining in that area. All in all as I attempt to squeeze out whatever additional info I can I gotta say in summary the resort itself is nice but it certainly does NOT meet the expectation for the price. This resort should 100% be ALL INCLUSIVE for one and in addition should in fact be ADULTS Only. Not to hate on anyone's kids but the constant kid screaming and running in the pool area sent me to my room where I was able to enjoy an overpriced pool view with an unusable cold plunge daily. The food can use a major upgrade and the prices at this resort for certain need to be reconsidered. Maybe 1 3rd go on the Spice Island will be a possibility in the future but after trying 2 of the islands most hyped resorts...I doubt it. This further confirms my modo when I say..."Just because its expensive, doesn't mean its better". 3 Stars. Average. That's my review. Many more locations in the works this year folks....Stay tuned The resort also offers some included classes (Candle making, Bike tour, Face Mask making etc) but I passed on them all.
