The hikes and the fitness sessions were great; the location was amazing. the hiking guides and most of the staff were efficient but the food service was appalling. One hour and a half for breakfast; I had to miss it once in order to get to my hike on time. Dinner was about a one and a half and two hour wait for food. It got better the last night we were there, but unless it gets better, I would rather go elsewhere. The servers tried but it was not there fauilt. Also the wine list had about a four to five times markup. One bottle was marked up six times from the local retailer. It is absolutely horrendous.

Red Mountain Resort is no longer a health and fitness experience. Many of the guests are there for a hotel stay so the energy and vibe is not the same. There are no longer buffets for breakfast and lunch. The menu was limited and the service was slow. It was often a rush to get out on time for the hike. The dinner menu was limited and did not change. The food was good but the service was poor. It also was not healthy food. There were very limited vegetarian or gluten free choices. The hiking was still wonderful and the fitness classes were fun. Much less choice however. If you have been before like I have, keep your expectations low.

This was my 5th stay at the resort and I was very disappointed mainly about the food quality and choices. The breakfast/lunch menu was changed once during my 7 day stay but the dinner menu stayed the same for the duration. Several lunch items and dinner items weren't available on several days which left few choices. There were 2 desserts to pick from for the whole week and when asked for something else the only offer was ice cream. The breakfast Southwest Eggs Benedict was served with burned pork and the breakfast Sandwich was so soggy that it was not edible. One lunch item consisted of noodles in heavy oil with 3 cherry tomatoes for $ 18.00 + grilled chicken $ 12.00. Towards the end of my stay I was not looking forward to dinner since I had to eat the same dishes over and over again. The last 2 days I was only able to eat Greek Yoghurt and fruit for breakfast. Another healthy choice, steel cut Oats, were taken off the menu. After having experienced awesome breakfast and lunch buffets and gourmet dinners on my previous visits, this was a total disappointment. Also on previous visits there was always fresh fruit (Bananas, Apples etc.) available but those were not available either. In regards to the hikes I found that they were rushed probably due to the fact that most of us wanted to take part in the stretch class which started when the hikes were supposed to end. Maybe the stretch class could be started 15 minutes later which would give the hiking guides more time to finish the hike without being rushed and would give everybody time to take part in the class. I noticed that some of the Yoga mats need cleaned/sanitized and replaced. Missing were quite a few classes and lectures previously offered which were included in the package. I hope management will decide to go back to healthy buffet-style breakfast and lunches (which also would alleviate the long wait we experienced for our food to be served) and offer daily changing dinner menus. For single travelers it would be nice to have the Community table back too. Re bill: several corrections needed to be made on the final invoice.

The guest room suite was lovely. The pool area was very nice. The view is spectacular. We went on the morning walk to a local garden and a scenic overlook and that was fantastic. We did a stretch class that was very good. The restaurant had implemented a new menu and the food was really bad. The service was also very slow and it took an hour to get a drink and 1 1/2 hours for our dinner to come and the restaurant was almost empty. We exited the all-inclusive plan so we could eat elsewhere. We were fortunate to have a car so we could go into town, which has some wonderful food choices.

This was my second visit to Red Mountain resort. The first visit was perfect! The second trip MAJOR FINANCIAL issue!! The resort began taking money out of our accounts without permission!! When we checked in we were asked to put a card on file for $100.00 for incidentals only. Now I don’t know about others but I may not pay my bill with that card and my bill is paid upon CHECK OUT. Red Mountain started removing various amounts of money from both my and my sisters accounts! I looked at my account to find 285.00, 700.00 and 2000.00 withdrawn! They maxed out my sister’s credit card! I was paying for BOTH our stays -WHEN WE CHECKED OUT- not during our stay! She is on a very limited income so maxing out her card was a huge stress for her. It ruined her stay and mine as she had things to pay with that card over the next month. I have NEVER had any hotel just take money from my card without consulting me first! I DEFINITELY DON’T PAY AS I GO FOR A HOTEL BILL WITHOUT BEING CONSULTED!!! The resorts response was it’s a new system and you’ll just have to wait until the bank puts the money back in your account! We’re not all wealthy people with excess money to throw around. I saved to pay for our 10 day stay for a 70th birthday gift to myself. Won’t be going back to the idyllic place I love do you poor management- watch your purse!!

Last August my sister and I used my Luxury Link package to Red Mountain Spa in Saint George, Utah. The spa is all-inclusive and the hikes, classes, lectures, lessons and food are great. The food is healthy, fresh, well-prepared and delicious. The classes go non-stop all day so there is always something to do. We both had GREAT massages - inclusive with the package, a big perk there.

At The Red Mountain Spa in Utah, we were changed to a villa upon request. They were extremely accommodating. It is a lovely setting with wonderful spa food.
