Reviews for Jade Mountain

Fabulous with a few glitches

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 1 day ago

I feel rather mean by not giving 5 stars, but I think some other reviewers are just trying to justify the price. The hotel is stunning and there are so many nice little touches they are probably too numerous to list: long story short, they really look after you. The rooms and views are stunning, the food is excellent. So, why not 5 stars? The rooms are open to the elements which gives you a great feel for the nature - you are unlikely to experience this anywhere else. It meant that the room temperature didn't drop below 26C overnight which made sleeping a little uncomfortable (there's no AC). Also the rooms are open to mosquitos, birds and bats, all of which joined us. That didn't bother me too much, but it's something to bear in mind. Our room on the JF level was 10 flights of stairs (140 steps) below the Jade restaurant where we had breakfast and dinner - there's no lift/elevator. Again, this wasn't a problem for us, but something to bear in mind. The food in the Jade restaurant was really excellent but the service was spotty. When we arrived at 2.30pm our room wasn't ready so we were invited to eat. We ordered starters only which took 30 mins to arrive even thought the restaurant was pretty empty (most people were at the beach). Water is always placed on the table out of reach of the customer but the service is not frequent enough to top up the glasses. Restaurant service was actually much more friendly and experienced down at the beach. We sat in the bar one evening for at least 20 mins before anyone offered service. Our room didn't have a pool and there isn't really a swimming pool for general use. Since the rooms have no AC you can end up feeling rather hot. The previous hotel we stayed at on the island had a huge pool and also a great gym. The gym at Jade mountain is basically an empty room with a single running machine. The massage we had at the spa on the other hand was the best ever - that's the conundrum of Jade mountain. Another thing that didn't sit well was the amount of paperwork and upselling that we had to deal with on arrival. Having spend several thousand per night I didn't really want to be told about all sorts of this and that for a few hundred dollars more, felt kind of cheap. Similarly trying to untangle the menus of what was included and not included did not encourage the relaxation I was looking for: it's all just too complicated for no good reason. Wandering down to the beach where there were various little sail boats, kayaks, snorkelling gear etc to use as you wish was just perfect. Overall Jade Mountain is stunning and there are so many positives, many more than I've mentioned, that less than 5 stars seems harsh. But it's very expensive and so it should be very good.

Perfect Honeymoon

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 6 days ago

This was not only the best place we could have spent our honeymoon, but was the nicest resort and staff we have ever experienced. Let me start by saying that every staff member was so kind and always had smiles on their faces. Nage, Junior, Ned, Jamal, Sherton, Levi, Theo, Ronnie, we cannot thank you all enough for making this the most magical and unforgettable time possible! The resort itself is absolutely beautiful. From the moment you step on the property, to the sanctuary (rooms), to the restaurant, everything was so amazing and clean. The location of the resort itself is extremely private and quiet. We got a couples massage every day we were there which was amazing. We loved our private pool and all the amenities in our sanctuary. Definitely worth every penny! We can’t wait to come back and see everyone soon!

Amazing Hotel

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 3 weeks ago

This was our second visit to jade mountain and can’t wait to book for next year as we loved it so much the first time the architecture is stunning and incredible views of the pitons, and exceptional, attentive service from the staff Major Domo junior looked after us very well and all the other Major were very good all the staff are gracious, motivated and world class. A couple of points if you want to get away from hectic cities and unwind than this is the perfect place for you nice beach got a pool in your sanctuary with a great view of the pitons the service is great food is great what’s there not to like about jade mountain. As I said if you want peace quiet and relaxation and great service book this place. Respect to Nick who built this hotel he made his dream come to true through hard work and everything else Nick and his family must have put into this place so that you and I can enjoy it. It is with regret we missed the managers meeting last year when we could have met the great men unfortunately, we found out this year that he had passed away last year God rest his sole I am sure he is watching from above at his great creation and smiling. We also found out this year the hotel is run by his family and what a beautiful job they are doing lots of improvements and other things keep up the good work.

Heaven on Earth

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 4 weeks ago

If there was heaven on earth, Jade Mountain is it. I cannot say enough great things about this beautiful, exclusive luxury resort. I worked with a concierge, specifically Guest Services Manager Noemi Deroulou and her team, from booking detailed, thoughtful excursions and a full itinerary for my family. Every day was a dream, and each Galaxy room with incredible views of the Piton mountains and ocean, among our own large infinity pool, is nothing like any of us has ever experienced. Our major domos (butlers) were very attentive, and the amazing fresh food/service each time were just exceptional. I highly recommend Jade Mountain resort, as we would love to return to finish the few excursions we didn't try, but we know it'll be just as magical as this epic trip.

You Won't Regret Anything! A MUST STAY!

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 4 weeks ago

A Long Overdue Review — and Worth Every Word I’m late writing this review, but I’m so glad I’m finally getting around to it. Jade Mountain is, without question, the best hotel experience I have ever had. Hands down. We visited in October 2021, at the tail end of the pandemic — back when we were still testing before flights and wearing masks. While the process of getting there was daunting, the moment we stepped onto the island and were whisked away on a seven-minute helicopter ride to Anse Chastanet, greeted with a sweet, fruity cocktail, my friend and I both knew we were in for something extraordinary. BEFORE BOOKING My friend had married in 2020 but never had the chance to properly celebrate, so I reached out to Anse Chastanet (Jade’s sister resort) to see if I could surprise her with a room upgrade that included a pool. The team there went above and beyond: while the only pool suite at Anse was already booked, they graciously upgraded us to Jade Mountain with a Sky Sanctuary suite. Although the Sky Sanctuary doesn’t include a private pool, the staff made sure our experience was even more special. They arranged a private swim and drinks session at the Jade Mountain Club infinity pool, located at the top of the resort’s main restaurant. My friend was floored — she had never experienced anything like it. Upon arrival, we were greeted by our Major Domo (butler), who walked us through every detail of the room and ensured we felt completely at home. THE ROOM At first, I wasn’t sure about the idea of an open-air room — but once you see that view, you wouldn’t want a wall blocking it either. Our suite was divided into four elegant areas: an entryway and small seating area, bedroom, bathroom, and living space. Everything was spacious, serene, and beautifully designed. Each day, we received a Bento box of special treats, an iPad to browse menus and book spa treatments, and a dedicated phone to reach our Major Domo anytime. He kept us effortlessly on schedule — confirming dinner reservations, arranging excursions, and coordinating rides up and down the hill between Jade Mountain and Anse Chastanet Beach (perfect for when we didn’t feel like walking). The room even came with tote bags for beach days — a thoughtful touch. EXCURSIONS We made the most of our stay, enjoying: A full-day sail with Captain Kerwin A Lionfish Tasting Dinner with wine pairing A Botanical Garden Tour Rum Tasting A Volcano Tour And some incredible snorkeling Each experience was seamlessly arranged and worth every minute. THE FOOD Every meal was outstanding. You have so many dining options, and it’s worth planning ahead since some experiences are available only on specific days or times. The Jade Mountain Club is reservation-only and exclusive to Jade guests — a must. Do note that certain premium proteins have a small upcharge even with the all-inclusive plan, but honestly, who flies to Saint Lucia for steak? Stick to the seafood, and you’ll be in heaven. All-Inclusive vs. À la Carte Choose the all-inclusive option — it’s absolutely worth it. Even if you’re not a big drinker, the dining experiences alone make it worthwhile. Don’t limit yourself; you’ll end up spending more if you go à la carte. WEATHER Booking at the tale end of October was perfect, still very hot but with moments of showers which helped keep the mosquitos away. OVERALL Every inch of Jade Mountain has been thoughtfully designed — the architecture, the service, the philosophy — all blend into a truly unforgettable experience. My friend spent most of the trip in awe, often saying, “I’m soaking it all in because I don’t think I’ll ever experience this again.” Less than a year later, she returned — this time with her husband for their long-delayed honeymoon, staying in a Star Sanctuary. Whether it’s a honeymoon, a girls’ getaway, or a retreat from everyday life, Jade Mountain remains, to me, the pinnacle of excellence. We’ll be back again and again.
