Please do not waste your moeny by staying at this hotel. I guarentee that you will be totally disappointment for what you get for this price. What a disappointing stay at the Ritz St Thomas. Based on the prices we paid I would definitely expect a lot more. The room -subpar. There was most in the shower and serious water damage in the toilet area, we also had mold on our patio. The beach – not good. Lots of rocks and shells. It was difficult to walk on the beach by the water and difficult to get in the water due to all the rocks and coral/shells. The hotel was sold out due to the holidays. It was a struggle to get a seat near the beach or pool. However, the hotel still sold guest passes to cruise tour passengers. This is completely unacceptable. The hotels should give priority over people staying at the Ritz – but they don’t The food: The Italian restaurant was good. Coconut Cove was terrible and The restaurant near the pool was just bar food. The cabanas- I feel that the Ritz owes us a refund. We had a cabana booked for 6 days. What they publish is NOT what you get. Yes you get your water, soda, prosecco, and 4 chairs.. and it ends there. You do not get 6 seasonal smoothies – if you are lucky you may get 1 or 2. No “dedicated” server – the server servers the ENTIRE adult pool area along with the cabanas – 2 days we waited over 1 ½ hours to see our “dedicated” server. Don’t’ ever expect to get cold scented towels. The cabanas state for 6 – yet one day the cabanas next to us had 15 people in – and they were overtaking our space – yet the staff did nothing about it The club was a nice place to go – but they run out of food earlier – as everyone goes their to eat since the costs to eat at the restaurants at the hotel are so high. We did have an issue at the hotel due to the strike on Venezuela. I would get into all the details – but as a Titanian Elite member the communication was so unprofessional and unacceptable. The women concierge at the club was so non communicative she should be fired. The only pro thing was some of the staff – specifically housekeeping. They were all friendly and always smiling. The Ritz St Thomas’s management should be totally disappointed in how this hotel is run. It is obvious that management does not walk around the hotel or they would see all the issues – the font fountain does not work – drapes in the club are all out of sorts. Sand sits in the pool for days – while we were there in 6 days it was never cleaned off the pool steps. I could go on and on……..

This is a far cry from a Ritz. Rooms were dated, worn and not cleaned well (bathroom grout was grimy, pee stains all around toilet base). No robes in room and our toilet kept breaking (we had to fix the water stopper to fill it after each flush). The bellhops were a highlight. They were very friendly and informative. Food on property was just ok. The vibe was just off at the restaurants for dinner because they were half empty (despite being fully booked?) and didn’t have enough servers for the entire restaurant so it was a bunch of tables constantly looking for a server to help them. After our first night we went off property for all dinners (red hook and other resorts have nice restaurants within a 10 min drive). Breakfast and lunch was fine on property. This is a points property. Everyone I spoke to had booked on points. I would have been livid if we had paid what they were charging for the rooms while we were there. Bc of that, they may not invest in the upkeep of the property or service. The level of service is not there (except the bellhops and a breakfast waitress at blue water). Front desk and concierge were abysmal. They booked our airport transfers wrong twice. I spent more time on vacation having to fix the issue directly with the vendor (which took three phone calls) than if I had just initially booked it myself than through them. If you want to visit St Thomas, stay somewhere else. If you want a Ritz level stay in the Caribbean, stay at the Ritz Cayman. Beautiful resort, excellent service and a true luxury vacation. Stay away from this property.

We recently stayed at The Ritz-Carlton St. Thomas for a wedding and were genuinely surprised by how far the experience fell below the five-star standard the brand is known for. While the location is undeniably beautiful, nearly every operational aspect of the stay missed the mark. While our room was generally clean, it was not deep cleaned. The grout throughout the room and bathroom was discolored and dirty, the rugs were worn and in need of replacement, and there were numerous scratches, gashes, and visible patchwork on the walls and furniture. The space felt tired and poorly maintained — more in line with an older Marriott property than a luxury resort. Service was inconsistent across the board. Housekeeping varied day to day, food throughout the property was mediocre, and restaurant service ranged from slow to almost nonexistent. Unfortunately, even the wedding we attended was affected by the lack of organization: no umbrellas provided during a rain shower, minimal direction or coordination, and an overall sense of scrambling rather than professionalism. The property itself, despite being in a beautiful location, feels aged and under-renovated. You can tell it was once a standout resort, but it has not been kept up to the standards expected of a Ritz-Carlton in 2025. Aesthetically and operationally, it does not deliver a luxury experience. In the end, this stay simply did not justify the premium price or the Ritz-Carlton name. This feels like a standard Marriott with a premium label, not a true five-star resort. I would recommend choosing another property if you are looking for a genuinely high-end experience in St. Thomas.

The service at this Ritz is phenomenal. We did the club lounge and the people that worked there - amazing service. The people that worked at Sails….also fantastic. Food everywhere was fantastic. The drivers - perfect. My only issue was that we complained 3 days in a row that our room had a mildew smell. It was bad, but we were barely in the room. They didn’t have a similar room to move us too so that part is what isn’t giving this review the best score. Gave me a headache

What a wonderful luxury resort! We are grateful to the manager Joe who was extremely helpful in upgrading our room to an outstanding Oceanview Suite and ensuring satisfaction throughout our stay. We enjoyed every minute and are planning to return with our children and grandchildren. All of the staff are super friendly, kind and courteous. My breakfast omelete was excellent. The whole experience was over the top. So glad we chose to come here. Can't wait to go back.
