Hotel Goldener Hirsch, a Luxury Collection Hotel

The place to stay. Service was outstanding. Cudos to Paolo and Amanda at the front desk. Location is choice . The breakfast buffet is fantastic with many choices and the staff there are quick to help. Room AC and bidet worked flawlessly. We had a drink at the bar which has a cool vibe. This was the highlight of our trip through Slovenia, Italy and Austria.

High quality hotel, pricey but excellent service, staff friendly and attentive. Rooms older in style but first class in quality, comfort. Restaurant Herzl adjacent and associated has very good food and deco. Location in heart of old city excellent for walking, exploring. No views but great walks abound just out the door, along the river or up to the castle. Is short taxi ride from train station. Surrounded by fine shops, eateries, and history. Well worth special stop over for exploration of region, even day trips.

I’ve been visiting Salzburg since 1995, and with our daughter now living here, we’ve stayed in many different places over the years. But none have felt like home the way Hotel Goldener Hirsch does. The hospitality is exceptional. Warm, attentive and genuine. From the moment we arrived, we were made to feel not just welcomed, but cared for. Our room was beautifully appointed, with a view overlooking the Pferdeschwemme. It was comfortable in that rare way that makes you want to unpack, settle in and stay a while. Breakfast service delivered to our room each morning allowed us to ease into the day with quiet and comfort. In the evenings, we found ourselves at the hotel bar both before and after dinner, drawn in by the atmosphere and the incredibly welcoming bartender. I wish I had gotten his name. His professionalism, beautiful cocktails and way of making everyone feel like a regular added a layer of warmth that made those evenings feel special. I'm going to return. Hotel Goldener Hirsch is more than a luxury property. It’s where we’ll return, again and again, because it feels like coming home.

Great Expectations, Exceeded! We had a fantastic stay at the Golden Hirsch in Salzburg. It has fantastic location and all tourist spots can be explored on foot. It is on a shopping street as well as same street at Mozarts place. Patrick, the bartender, was incredibly friendly and crafted some amazing cocktails for us. The staff overall were outstanding—when I sprained my ankle, Emilija was exceptionally helpful and attentive. The breakfast was amazing, with a wide variety of delicious options to start the day right. Again the service staff was outstanding. Special thanks to Binod, who went above and beyond to help us with our travel plans. The hotel restaurant was another highlight, offering excellent food and a great selection of wines. If we return to Salzburg, we’ll definitely be staying here again!

The Goldener Hirsch is one of one of my favourite hotels. On our latest trip to Europe we were arriving and departing from Zurich. A large part of our trip was spent in skiing in Switzerland and then in Vienna. We used the Hirsch as our waystation the way there and back just because we like it that much. Always great service and accomodations and superior food. What more can one ask for?
