Brimming with authentic Austrian charm, Hotel Goldener Hirsch, a Luxury Collection Hotel, Salzburg, is a cherished symbol of exceptional hospitality and celebrated tradition. Dating back to 1407, the property embodies an enduring symbiosis between original country house and luxury boutique hotel, woven into the very fabric of Salzburg life. Steeped in history, the hotel's petite proportions understate its significance as a cultural landmark, where the crossroads of music, art and cuisine intersect. Located in the Baroque heart of the historic center, Hotel Goldener Hirsch inhabits the fairy tale setting with natural grace. In the bijoux lobby, white-washed walls and leather furniture are offset with ancient arches and historic artefacts, like the hand-carved reception desk and heirloom wooden key case. Traditionally dressed associates, wearing uniforms reminiscent of national Tracht, welcome guests with a rare warmth that resonates across generations. Six centuries of history, the much beloved Goldener Hirsch style melds harmoniously with the most modern amenities. In 70 rooms and suites carefully curated antiques such as shoemaker's benches transformed into tables combine effortlessly with the latest televisions and coffee machines by Illy. Traditional "Fleckerlteppich" rugs complement the solid wood floors as well as hand-printed fabrics in pink, cornflower blue and red from the Salzburg firm Jordis. Refreshing sleep is assured in king-size and twin beds. Generously proportioned bathrooms in marble with porcelain by Villeroy & Boch offer shower or tub, or shower and tub. The view out onto Herbert-von-Karajan-Platz or Getreidegasse enchant, while soundproof windows ensure that rooms are always quiet.

This is one of the finest hotel stays we’ve had in quite a while. The hotel carries nearly 500 years of history, but it well updated while maintaining its historic charm. The service was excellent throughout our stay—front desk, restaurant, housekeeping, bellhop. Our room was clean and well-appointed with lots of detailed touches to enhance our stay, including Bluetooth connectivity in the bathroom, motion sensor lighting and a desk that converts to double as a full makeup table. Housekeeping was excellent throughout our stay. We ate at the terrace restaurant twice and found it to be a relaxing, enjoyable meal, although the menu options are slightly limited. The hotel is located on a pedestrian street with lots of crowds and activity, but we had no issues with noise in our room; the location makes it very walkable and convenient. While the price is a premium rate, the hotel is worth it and I’ll absolutely look no where else when we plan our next trip to Salzburg.

This is definitely a 5 star hotel and 5 star experience. You can’t beat the location on the most famous street in Salzburg. It’s a boutique type hotel with very friendly staff and the service was fantastic. The room is spacious and it was cleaned quickly every time we left in the morning/afternoon. The hotel bar is fun and the 2 restaurants are really good. This is one of my favorite hotels in Europe. We came off season (January), but would definitely splurge if we come back during high season.

I would have to rate this as one of my top stays on our 5wk European trip from Australia. From initially booking to leaving the service has been exceptional from all staff. Any questions were answered promptly, advice on sightseeing and directions were very helpful. I had wanted to stay in a central location for walking to all the sights I wanted to visit, and this was spot on. I had booked a deluxe room and on arrival was pleasantly surprised to be upgraded to a Junior Suite (room 78) which was located in an annexe building straight across from the hotel. The room was clean, large, light and bright with views out onto Getreidegasse and Burgerspitalkirche St Blasius. Even though we were on the very busy Getreidegasse we did not have an issue with noise. Breakfast was plentiful with lots on offer. As we had a car we used valet parking and request for use while staying was always met promptly. I am so glad we booked our stay in Salzburg at Hotel Goldener Hirsch and would highly recommend staying here and would definitely return if I am lucky enough to visit the lovely city of Salzburg.

Just returned from a magical three days in Salzburg and this hotel exceeded all expectations! It is undeniably beautiful in the traditional Austrian charm, but what made the stay so memorable was the staff! Everyone was welcoming, helpful with guidance and wanted to make sure your stay was one to remember! Kudos to Anya at reception who made an immediate warm impression and Lucas at the bar who made fabulous specialty cocktails! We loved going there pre dinner and after a full day of adventure ! They upgraded us to a junior suite and had fresh fruit and sparkling wine upon check in, Such a nice touch and certainly did not go unnoticed ! We were celebrating our anniversary here before embarking on a Viking Christmas Market cruise ! You cannot beat the location, right in the heart of fabulous stores, restaurants and bars. Magical time of year to be there in all the festive spirits and markets! We cannot wait to return!

On my first visit to Salzburg, I couldn't have had a better stay. I felt very welcomed by the hotel staff, right from check-in. All the employees were very friendly and helpful. especially Anja, Paolo, and Wolfgang. The location is spectacular, and the classic Austrian style makes the atmosphere super cozy and romantic. The room was very spacious, comfortable, and beautiful. Can't wait to visit Salzburg again and enjoy this beautiful hotel.
