Hotel Emma

First time visiting Supper and it was worth raving about. I appreciated Paul & Mercedes customer service and kindness. The French toast was the right recommendation too! Thanks and see you all soon! -Shalanda

What a Gem ! The location is very special as you pull into the Pearl (shopping/dining district) The Hotel Emma anchors the area. You can tell immediately by the way the valet staff meets and greets you, they are excited that you are there and glad to greet you. Next the intimate highly personable reception area is very warm and welcoming. The kind young lady who checked us in took the time to show us herself to the elevator.They have done a great job of taking something “old” (The Pearl Brewery) and making it feel new while preserving the history… Hard to describe as I am not a big fan of “antiques” and this is not that, it is new made to celebrate the history. The rooms were great , river view room on the 6th floor was perfect. Clean and well appointed…. Wait till you enjoy the water pressure in the shower… WOW, best I have had at any hotel ! The onsite restaurant , The Supper, it wonderful, great service and quality of the food was great…The people who staff the hotel are special, kind and caring and nothing but high praise for my new favorite hotel in San Antonio…

You will never experience anything as special as Hotel Emma! The renovation of the actual Pearl Brewery is amazing! Every detail is exquisite, and the staff could not be more accommodating or interested in being sure everyone enjoys their time there!

My family and I had a very disappointing experience tonight at the bar inside Sternewirth. My boyfriend and I are San Antonio natives and have visited several times because we’ve always enjoyed the atmosphere and the space. Unfortunately, tonight’s service was unacceptable. We brought my boyfriend’s parents with us and sat down in one of the larger seating areas. The table had clearly not been cleaned and still had old cups from the previous guests. That didn’t bother us, we assumed someone would come by shortly to clear it and greet us as most establishments do. We also understand that Saturday nights can be busy, so we were patient. However, after about 15 minutes of sitting there, no one acknowledged us. Multiple servers walked past our table while other groups around us many who arrived after we did were served drinks almost immediately. Not one staff member greeted us, checked in, or even cleared the table. When we eventually decided to leave and stood up, a server immediately walked over and began clearing the table without saying hello or acknowledging us at all. My boyfriend asked if she was responsible for that section and she said yes. When he asked where she had been while we had been sitting there waiting, she simply smiled, shrugged her shoulders and said nothing. There was no apology and no effort to ask us to stay. I want to be fair and clear that we are not quick to jump to conclusions, but it was very difficult not to notice that other tables were receiving prompt attention while we were completely ignored. As Mexican-American guests who have come here before, the experience left us feeling uncomfortable and unwelcome. This establishment has built a reputation for hospitality and quality, which is why this experience was so disappointing. A guest should never sit at a dirty table for 15 minutes while staff walk past and other patrons are served without even the basic courtesy of a greeting. Management should seriously review service standards and staff awareness, because the way we were treated tonight did not reflect the level of hospitality that this place is known for.
