Reviews for The Westgate Hotel

Friendly Staff and great location

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 3 days ago

This hotel has large rooms, comfortable beds, plush pillows, huge TV and a mini refrigerator. The hotel staff goes above and beyond. Mariana at the front desk is delightful and genuinely friendly. Her service is top tier and I will definitely return. This property is within walking distance to tons of restaurants, bars and night clubs.

Think, Grandma's house

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 5 days ago

Walk into a Beauty and The Beast enchanted reception area and dazzled by crystal and grandfather clocks you think will burst into song. Get in the lift and out into dated lemon carpets and odorus corridors. Then into rooms which smell like Grandma's house and probably were last updated around the mid 80s. Open the window for fresh air to be deafened by the trains nearby, close the window to be suffocated by Grandma's house. Turn on the Aircon to be irritated by continuinous clicking. Try to sleep to blinded by the light shining through the gaps in the doors and once again be disturbed by all the noise including the elevators. The gyms extensive and the pool area is lovely. Would I use again, no!

Another awesome experience

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 1 week ago

I had a magnificent day here at the Westin. I stay here a lot. I'm part of American Airlines flight crew. Sarah and David are absolutely fantastic in customer service. They help me with finding places to eat, exploring new things. I've been coming to this hotel for quite a bit with the airline. But they brought a whole new experience which which has been even more pleasant than it usually has been. Kudos to Sarah and David. This is what customer service and hospitality service should be like at every Hotel

Excellent stay and value

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 1 week ago

Excellent room, beautiful hotel and outstanding value compared to the other 6 hotels we’ve stayed at in SD. Missed tea because it was Mother’s Day weekend and already sold out when we arrived. Also The outside rooftop gym and pool is excellent. I love working out in the open air and the equipment variety and quality was surprisingly good. I will definitely make this my place to stay every time I visit downtown SD.

A warming stay

The hotel is so gorgeous and elegant. The staff are so attentive and caring; you can truly see they take a huge amount of pride in where they work. David and Bryan had brilliant customer service skills that shone through the whole stay. You can melt into the bed, the rooms are so spacious and airy with views across the city
