Reviews for Four Seasons Hotel San Francisco

Serene and swanky

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 3 weeks ago

I love this Four Seasons -- everything about it is an oasis of serenity. The room decor, staff and spacious rooms all combine to offer a wonderful respite after a busy work day. And thanks to the immaculate, large rooms, I always feel miles away from the city bustle. The adjacent Equinox is a major plus. And the service, wonderful: prompt and thoughtful. If they can add a child's size burger to the room service menu, I'd be in heaven!

Amazing experience

I’ve stayed in several 5 star hotels in San Fransisco, the four seasons is the cleanest, high quality service, food, staff and room decor. The other hotels smell, the other 5star hotel smell. This hotel once i stepped my foot inside it, it smelled like spa. The bellmen, front desk staff are very friendly and welcoming.

5 Star hotel with 1 Star service

I've stayed at this Four Seasons location a few times and enjoyed the location and Equinox perk. This past trip was unbelievably disappointing. When I arrived on Tues, 3/19, there was some kind of event going on at the hotel, which was fine. The buzz at the bar and restaurant was great, until the bartender completely ignored my friend and I when I tried to order a drink after checking in. It was clear he saw us, but there was no acknowledgment, no nod, no smile, and he just blatantly ignored us. I understand that the bar was busy, but that doesn't mean anyone should completely disregard the hotel guests. The second issue was my room. I was hoping to relax after a day of work, but my television didn't work. It turned on, but the images and sound would cut in and out. It was impossible to watch anything (not regular television, not movies, etc). I called the front desk and made them aware of this issue, and they said they could send someone the next day to fix it. I told them the room would be available for technicians to fix the television after 11am PT on Wed, 3/20. No one ever followed up with me once to say the television issue had been taken care of or to give me a status update. I came back to the hotel room on 3/20 hoping it would work. The TV worked one night only (during my 3-night stay) on 3/20. The next day, Thurs, 3/21, again the television didn't work. I have videos of how poor the television reception/etc quality was. I called downstairs again. This entire trip, no one reached out to check on my experience. One person emailed me to offer late checkout the next day when I was flying out to the east coast at 7am PT. As if that would even be a solution for these inconveniences. Finally, my folio was not emailed to me so I called today Sat, 3/30 to ask for a copy. I was told no one could help me today but that I could be provided with the accounting team's email address to reach out on Monday. I am appalled by the lack of customer service and customer care - and do not see the value of my hotel stay whatsoever. It is very unlikely that I would stay at this Four Seasons again.

Nice hotel, location not good

Hotel was nice, service great. Part of the reason for booking it was the pool but this can only be used for over 15yrs which we did not find out until we arrived so a couple of disappointed kids. Unfortunately although not a hotel issue, the area the hotel is in has gone massively downhill since our last stay. I do not think I have seen so many homeless people in one area which although they are probably harmless there are a lot that are screaming and shouting, urinating on the street and it gave the feeling of being unsafe and the kids did not want to walk around the area. Lots of closed shops also gives it very rundown feel.

Romantic Getaway

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 1 month ago

I was planning on proposing to my girlfriend the night of our stay. With the help of the staff and concierge, our room was set up exactly how I imagined, even with a last-second hiccup (on my part). The staff in the restaurant for breakfast went above and beyond, making our first breakfast as an engaged couple very memorable! I now have so many happy memories from just one night. I cannot recommend and compliment the staff enough!
