Condado Vanderbilt Hotel

Fantastic trip from start to finish. Special shout out to the concierge team for making this a memorable experience. Great activities geared towards the kids. Fantastic beach. A++++ service always.

My husband and I are experienced travelers. We have been to many different countries and parts of the Caribbean. This hotel was not the luxury that the price tag leads you to believe it is. I don't know if it was because it was over the New Year's Weekend, but we were not impressed. I will say that most of the staff we encountered were very kind and pleasant. It felt more like a management problem than anything else. Check-In: We were unable to check in to our room until after 5:00 PM, which I think is a major problem considering we spent $800/night. We had to argue to be compensated for this, but overall, they did make it right, so I will give credit for that. While we waited, we went to the Mexican Restaurant. Big Mistake. Do not waste your time here. My 5-year-old could make a better margarita if I asked her to over this premade mix. The food was not good either. The housekeeping, in my opinion, was the biggest problem here. We got back up to the room one day around 4:30, and the room had yet to be cleaned. Again! They told me that the service is through 6 pm. 6 PM! Who wants their room cleaned at 6 PM?! I've never heard of that. We also had a huge hair clump left in the shower after housekeeping left one day. (Presuming that it came out of the drain, it was disgusting!) The Breakfast Place is a mess. I'm guessing everyone here books with Amex or Chase and therefore gets the free breakfast. There is only one place to eat, and by 9 AM, there is a line out the door. The buffet had little left, so if you want a decent selection, then make sure you head there before 9. The pool deck was nice, but if you don't sit down towards one end of the pool, you won't get any sun until later in the morning/afternoon. I think his name was Miguel (if not Miguel, then it was definitely something with an M). He was incredible and always remembered everyone's name. He was a positive to this hotel and should be complimented. Overall, I'm sure this is a nicer hotel compared to many others in the area. It just didn't sit well with me that we were spending so much money for such inconsistent service. I would NOT recommend traveling during a holiday... maybe that was the biggest problem.

Please know the only place we found for luxury was Condado Vanderbilt in San Juan! A hotel that is on the ocean and delivers everything your heart and soul needs to relax!!! We were at another hotel, and not happy, we stopped in on our second day of 8 day trip to Condado Vanderbilt because it looked so awesome and Lucious from the street. We walked around and through the lobby we saw waves crashing, we asked can we look on the balcony to outside, amazing!!!! Beyond our expectations. We were leaving and looking around and Mayra with mgmt staff asked us if she could help us, we said no we’re admiring this beautiful hotel, we told her we were not happy and she immediately said, let me see if I can help! She came back with a room we could check in the next day and when we got to room it wasn’t the small room she mentioned, it was a suite beyond our expectations!’ We are on day 2 and loving every minute, the staff - Mayra and team are fabulous and I would refer everyone to this hotel! Thank you Mayra and Condado Vanderbilt for making our first San Juan trip awesome!!!!!’

Vanderbilt Hotel (San Juan/Condado, PR), out did themselves throughout the week we spend our vacation in their accomodations (Dec. 14-19, 2025)! Their seasonal plates in the 1919 restaurant are amazing and also their service. Their food is really good and the quality of their ingredients were fenomenal. We follow the recommendations of the rest. Main Server regarding drinks, starters, main courses and deserts; we’re on point. My wife & I have been extremely busy throughout these past months and we decided to do a mini-escape from Atlanta to Puerto Rico. We love the food and service of the 1919 Restaurant but, were we felt really at home was in the Hola Ocean Front restaurant. We felt at home with the atmosphere but, what really took us back was their service. Their service, their people (specially Ruben Quiñones) is what it makes this rest. and experience an outstanding gastronomical experience! Ruben’s service was beyond AMAZING, super attentive, quick and efficient. The whole staff make sure your experience is an amazing one but Ruben was above & beyond! For sure, if you are having a sit down dinner; definitely request Ruben. I’.m not sure how long he has been in the service industry but, we could tell he has been taking care people very well for some time. His service is superb and his personality makes you feel like you know him from many years ago. We also had an amazing and relaxing time in the AVO Cigar Lounge. One of the best cigar lounges we have ever visited in our lifetime. And that’s comparing from cigar lounges in the United States and around the world. Beautiful decor, amazing atmosphere, and the very best of cigar selection. But what it makes to cigar lounge the best, was their service! Miguel Padilla and Adriana were the greatest servers/hostess any cigar aficionado can ask. This duo made us feel super special and relax. Miguel and Adriana make us feel like we were the only two people in the lounge the whole week. They were simply the best! Their dedication, service, attentiveness, and their ownership of to their craft to provide us the best experience they could, make us feel especial and that we were just at home. Miguel and Adriana were simply Amazing! Thank you Miguel and Adriana for your professionalism, dedication,and for a perfect vacation week we had in your company! Respectfully, Javier & Sharon Perez

From the moment we arrived, we were made to feel like absolute kings and queens. Nicole at the front desk welcomed us with such warmth and grace that it immediately set the tone for the entire stay. She made us feel seen, valued, and genuinely happy to be there. The service team was equally outstanding. Alexander and Jean were incredibly kind, welcoming, and attentive — always ready to answer questions and help in any way they could. Their professionalism paired with genuine friendliness made a huge impression on us. Our room was delightful and far exceeded our expectations. Beautifully appointed, comfortable, and luxurious without feeling stiff or pretentious. It was the kind of room you actually want to linger in. We loved our stay so much that we’ve already booked our return and will be back on December 31 for three more nights. This hotel doesn’t just offer luxury — it offers care, hospitality, and an experience that stays with you. Highly recommend, and we can’t wait to return.
