Hotel El Convento

Kindest, most professional staff—everyone from the front desk, to the waiters, housekeeping & bellhops—was incredible. The hotel itself is an oasis with an inner courtyard and many seating areas, including covered areas. We were between this and Alma, but so happy we chose here. And the location can’t be any better. Central to walking around old San Juan to the best coffee, restaurants, bars, museums and even sunset. You can use the tiny rooftop pool here or go to their sister property across the street for a larger roof deck, with pool and restaurant. If we ever come back, this is where we would pick again. My only thing is the inner courtyard at night is mosquito filled—but they provide repellent spray.

From the second we arrived outstanding service began. George, Mara, & Griselyz. Meals delicious Lindsey, Indira,& Andrea friendly service. LUIS on 3rd floor coffee was great/ loved wine at 5PM. The Gm Henry solved any issues right away. And was very friendly about it . He really made it a memorable vacation. Thank you. Your staff really is awesome

Fabulous hotel experience. Incredible historical building and they've done such a great job to keep that authentic feeling, truly a joy to explore just the hotel itself. Location also couldnt be better, calm and quiet, yet less than 1min walk to where the social life is. Staff is very attentive, friendly and professional, you truly feel treated like a VIP. The hotel was doing some light renovations when I was there, and they had to cut the power for a few hours, but the staff was so accommodating it didn't bother me at all. Griseliz and her team in the reception made the stay so comfortable and enjoyable. I can't wait to come back again! Also Trixie the house cat wandering around is super cute

Excellent service! Anna at the host stand was welcoming and kind, and Andrea was a fantastic waitress—attentive, friendly, and fast. She provided great recommendations for the brunch. Made our visit a real pleasure. The hotel is very beautiful and with lots of history.

We stayed one night at El Convento for the wedding of our son and now lovely wife. It was perfect for us to get ready before the ceremony at Plazuela La Rogativa and for the reception at El Convento. The room had a beautiful view to the San Juan Bay and was the perfect backdrop for the pictures before the wedding. The hotel is a very special colonial building and the rooms are modern and updated. Many thanks to the Director of Catering Fabiola Cruz for her support during the planning of the wedding reception- since we met during the wedding menu tasting to the day of the wedding ( even helping us -at the last minute- finding a tuxedo bow tie). Fabiola and her team swiftly partnered with the wedding coordinator and other suppliers making the celebration one very special! Thanks to all!
