Horrible customer service, stay at the El San Juan. It’s much better.
I’m staying at the El San Juan , Beautiful hotel, and very customer friendly, Yesterday I met my friends who are staying at the Royal Sonesta via poolside bar. We ate and drank all day and spent hundreds of dollars. Today when I attempted to enter and meet them at the pool, The security guard at the beach stopped me and would not let me proceed. I informed her I was meeting friends here we’re going to eat and drink like yesterday, She she could barely speak English and was very adamant about not letting me pass, It seems like she was guarding Fort Knox. I’m obviously a tourist not a local. What a shame, Such a nice hotel with such a POOR CUSTOMER SERVICE. I would suggest stay at the El San Juan. It’s much nicer and they are very service orientated and customer friendly.

Great Stay
Very happy we chose this hotel for a short stay in Puerto Rico. Staff was friendly and helpful. Grounds were in good shape. Room was comfortable. Pool was nice. The beach is very nice, unfortunately while we were there the red flag was up because of riptides. There were families there with children. I don't consider that a pro or a con however you might. There were a few cons but not enough for me to stay here again at the right price. Some of the downsides of the stay: 1. They have 3 elevators. One never worked during our whole stay. At one point during the stay a second elevator stopped working for many hours. With only one working elevator it was crowded and took a long time to get up or down. 2. One day they forgot to make up the room. 3. Breakfast at the hotel was expensive. 4. While outside you can occasionally hear an airplane, the room however was quiet.

Amazing experience definitely recommend.
The pool was beautiful, the breakfast was the best I’ve ever had in my life. The service was outstanding William the bell captain/doorman was incredible as was - the server Jenny at the pool. I slept like a baby. The beds were so comfortable.

2025 Family Vacation
I highly recommend this Hotel for Family Vacation and for Business conferences. The atmosphere and location are excellent. The rooms are well maintained all throughout the stay.

Overall great vacation. Cant wait to start planning the next with Luxury Link. Please note this is a great hotel but showing a lot of wear. Here are some specifics:

Akua Pool bar and staff - Great
Beach bar and staff - Great
Aleli cafe breakfast and staff - Great
I didn't know that there was a gift shop or an Italian restaurant until my second day there (not listed on hotel website).
Hotel "club" room - Good, clean, comfortable
Would have been Great if the sliding door from the room to the pool area wasn't so hard to use. My wife gave up after day one and walked around to get to pool. This was a BIG PROBLEM for us as it kind of defeats the purpose.
Poor water pressure.
The club room comes with buffet brekfast so the Luxury Link perk was kind of redundant.
Karaya bar - very good, usually busy, so service was a bit slow but food was good.
