Extremely Disappointing Experience – SCAM Resort Fee Double Charging My stay at this hotel ended in complete disappointment and frustration. At checkout, I discovered that my credit card had been charged additional “resort fees” despite the fact that I had already paid these fees in full at the time of booking through a third-party site. When I questioned this, the manager insisted that these were additional fees that I would have been informed of at check-in. This is simply not true. I was never told about any extra charges, nor did I ever agree to them. Even after I showed clear proof that I had already paid an extra 22% in fees—the exact same amount that was charged again to my card without my authorization—the manager remained unapologetic and continued to insist that I was responsible for paying these fees again. As a result, I spent my last day in Puerto Rico upset, stressed, and feeling completely scammed. It left me wondering how many other guests unknowingly pay these fees twice through what feels like a “resort fee double-dipping” practice. After emailing the hotel, the incorrectly charged fees were eventually refunded to my credit card, but notably, no apology or acknowledgment of the inconvenience was ever offered. To make matters worse, the beach service was practically nonexistent. There was only one staff member available, and priority was clearly given to cruise ship excursion day guests rather than actual hotel guests. This experience seriously tarnished what should have been a relaxing stay. Between the misleading fees, lack of transparency, poor service, and dismissive management response, I cannot recommend this hotel.

The facilities are beautiful. Every staff member I interacted with was friendly and helpful. The only reason I didn't give the top rating is because of noise. Loud music is played in the pool area much of the day. I'd rather hear the ocean! Worse, on one night they closed off the entire pool area late afternoon until 11:00 p.m. for a function you could only gain access to if you paid $65. So not only could I not lounge by the pool in the evening, I had to hear loud music until 11:00 p.m.

This hotel is worn and in need of updates. The room looks modern but it’s pretty beat up and doesn’t look clean. The property is smaller than expected and there aren’t a lot of options. The food at the hotel is decent and the service has been good. The beach is nice and a bit safer than Condado.

Had a wonderful three day stay. Fabulous ocean and beautiful hotel. Lunch at their beach restaurant was also great. If you are staying there beach chairs and umbrella set up is free (we did tip). Hope to return one day!

Overall great vacation. Cant wait to start planning the next with Luxury Link. Please note this is a great hotel but showing a lot of wear. Here are some specifics:
Location - Great
Pool - Great
Akua Pool bar and staff - Great
Beach bar and staff - Great
Aleli cafe breakfast and staff - Great
I didn't know that there was a gift shop or an Italian restaurant until my second day there (not listed on hotel website).
Hotel "club" room - Good, clean, comfortable
Would have been Great if the sliding door from the room to the pool area wasn't so hard to use. My wife gave up after day one and walked around to get to pool. This was a BIG PROBLEM for us as it kind of defeats the purpose.
Poor water pressure.
The club room comes with buffet brekfast so the Luxury Link perk was kind of redundant.
Karaya bar - very good, usually busy, so service was a bit slow but food was good.
