Designed to blend effortlessly into its landscape, Nayara Alto Atacama is a magnificent desert retreat. The hotel's architecture incorporates the ancient building styles of the Altiplano natives, with architectural lines that echo the surrounding hills, and colors and textures that reflect nearby rocks and soil. Interiors feature a quiet luxury and authentic sense of place. The surrounding gardens are a microcosm of the desert, created with native materials and seeds, and planted entirely by hand. Moved with humble respect for nature and the local culture, we are proud to promote this piece of the world that has been their home for thousands of years and committed to protect their heritage. Alto Atacama is a multiple award winning hotel, a recognized luxury lodge, a stunning location… More than that, a place high up, closer to the stars.

We stayed for 3 nights at this glorious resort. Whilst it is very pricy for the all inclusive package (transfers, tours, food and beverages) it was an amazing experience. We dis as many tours as possible and will have wonderful memories of all of the things we did and saw including the geysers, desert sunsets, stargazing and mars valley trails. The food, transfers, service, tours, rooms etc were all great. You feel very looked after! Amazing Pisco Sours to finish off our active days. What a wonderful resort in an enchanting location!

Our stay at Nayara Atacama was cut short as we had to be evacuated due to flash flooding (of all places...the Atacama desert!). The GM (Pablo) and his team successfully navigated the situation an transferred us to a nearby resort. While not up the standards of Nayara we appreciated their efforts on our behalf. The food and beverage options were exceptional as was the spa. Given its somewhat remote location I would suggest a full meal plan as the food is excellent and the service amazing. A special shout out to Nico, our excurision guide, who showed us some amazing places in Atacama (photos attached).

Our stay at Nayara Alto Atacama was the grand finale of our 16-day vacation in beautiful Chile. From the moment we arrived at Nayara, we were impressed by the warmth of the staff and the stunning desert location. Our comfortable room had the best bed of our trip, plenty of room to unpack and I loved the private outdoor shower. Upon arrival, we made our plans for the week. We love to be active and wanted some challenging hikes- we were not disappointed. I highly recommend the Vilma-Devil's Throat hike (an option on bikes as well), the gorgeous Rainbow Valley Hike (ask for the extended version, 10 km) and the Cactus Hike (trickier than you might expect, yet amazing). The guides, assistant guides and drivers on each excursion were incredible. The food at the resort was excellent and plentiful. We especially enjoyed the chef's special Chilean meal, an option one night. We took advantage of the lovely spa and enjoyed relaxing massages. One day we borrowed two of the resort's mountain bikes and headed into town to explore. I greatly enjoyed visiting with the resort's llamas and fed them daily. Bring sunscreen and lots of face moisturizer- it is the driest place on Earth! We will return one day to spend more time in this otherworldly place and see more sites that we did not have time for on this visit. Without hesitation, we will stay at Nayara Alto and enjoyed the wonderful Chilean hospitality. It is a special place!

Everyone at the hotel is SO nice! Eros, Ariel, Jose, Alvaro, Freddy, Pia- everyone! The rooms are so comfortable and clean, beautiful grounds, and the food is fantastic. Literally everything is perfect (the photos on their site don't do it justice!). The excursions were wonderful too. We highly recommend (and we're picky!).
