About the Hotel
Embracing a legacy of rich history dating back to the 15th century, Hodelpa Nicolas de Ovando Hotel is located on the first paved road of the New World, Calle Las Damas, in the heart of Santo Domingo’s historic Zona Colonial, designated a UNESCO Heritage Site. Comprising three stone houses and courtyards built in 1502, the historic building was the very first to be built on the country’s colonial land and the home of the town’s founder and first Spanish governor of the Americas, Nicolas de Ovando, and his companion Christopher Columbus.

Buffet
Excellent breakfast buffet. It included omelet, three different kind of eggs, variety of fruits and breads, cereals and all kind of beverages. It Top-of-notch service from Claribel and Clara.

Would definitely stay again
We stayed here with my husband and my 2 year old. We had an amazing experience. It is centrally located so you can walk everywhere. The food within the hotel is also really great for breakfast lunch and dinner! The servers go out of their way to ensure you are happy and the food was good too. Thank you Clara! You can walk right outside the hotel to Columbus Park where there’s many outdoor restaurants, live music, and cafes where you can get coffee including iced coffee. You can also get tours from there. The hotel was very clean and accommodating. The gym and pool are were also clean and well maintained. We loved it here and would definitely stay here again!

Perfect stay
The hotel is beautiful. The food was top notch. But the absolute best part of this hotel is the team. Every single encounter is filled with warmth, knowledge and genuine joy!

Awesome place with so much history
Great place. Very sweet staff. Loved our stay. Hermes was particularly wonderful. Internet could be stronger. Breakfast buffet is really delicious and extensive.

Drinks and food
Penelope helped us to enjoy the experience, lovely food and friendly service. It was lovely setting in courtyard unfortunately it rained for a long time so we had a few more drinks, very close to sightseeing places, would happily come here again
