Hodelpa Nicolas de Ovando

I had always considered Hodelpa one of my favorite hotels, but our last stay turned into a devastating experience for my family. Personal belongings were stolen directly from our room, including jewelry from my husband’s recently deceased mother, my very first wedding ring, and a gold chain. These were items of immeasurable sentimental value, and their loss has caused us pain that money cannot repair. What makes it worse is that one of the employees who entered our room was later dismissed—despite management initially praising her as trustworthy. This has completely shattered our confidence. We were loyal customers for years and always recommended Hodelpa to friends and family. Sadly, after this incident, we cannot return and strongly caution others. What should have been a joyful family trip became a moment of loss, sadness, and mistrust. The case is now in the hands of the Dominican police.

Hodepal Nicolas de Ovando is a 💎 gem. The service offered by the staff is superb and that’s what makes this hotel stand out from the rest. It’s like being home without all the home work. It’s very clean and the location is perfect. An oasis! We stayed at Nicolas de Ovando on the last night of our trip. We spent the first half at a large all inclusive in La Romana that had terrible service, and walking into Nicolas de Ovando was like a breath of fresh air! The staff was so kind, professional, and genuinely helpful. They helped switch my daughter’s roll out bed to a different room and were so adamant that I know it was no trouble at all. We lounged by the pool and had the best lunch we’ve had all week! The staff were all so knowledgeable about the hotel’s history, and gave us such cool tidbits as we engaged with them. They helped coordinate an airport shuttle. From beginning to end our stay was absolutely marvelous! I truly wish we had spent our entire vacation here instead of only the last night!

Amazing. Hospitality, cleanliness and amenities were fantastic. As two female friends from the states, we were welcomed warmly, felt safe and enjoyed the beautiful architecture of the hotel. Would 100% recommend.

Great food and drinks. Excellent service. Our servers were Clara, Nestor and Cindy. All very professional, very attentive, and friendly. I highly recommend visiting here. Next time I come I’ll stay in the hotel. Great vibes.
