Reviews for Cavallo Point Lodge

Birthday stay

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 1 day ago

I wanted to splurge for my birthday and Cavallo Point was absolutely worth it! I stayed in an ADA suite, which was very quiet, with a stunning view of the Golden Gate Bridge. My only complaint is that the decor is truly hideous in the contemporary rooms. It looks like it was last updated in 1978. The bathroom was top tier, though and very luxurious. I found the bed too soft, but that’s a personal preference. I ate at Sula for breakfast and dinner and the food was excellent both times. I also had room service which was also excellent. The food arrived at the appropriate temperature and promptly at the promised time. I also got a hot stone massage at the spa with Rosaura. Also wonderful. I stayed midweek, so there were a lot of loud and frankly obnoxious corporate events. Fortunately, my suite was at the edge of the property, away from the unruly mobs. I assume weekends have more couples and families and fewer drunken revelers. I’ve already made reservations for next year’s birthday, this time for a historic room. I intend to make this an annual tradition.

Not Worth the price if you want to sleep well

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 5 days ago

I came here for rest and relaxation after having a baby. I was solo and did not get good sleep for 2 nights for the following reasons: I had a downstairs unit and I can hear the upstairs neighbor stomping around until midnight and they got up at 5am. It was living in a cheap apartment. The bed was very hard and I could not get comfortable. The ceiling fan was buzzing all night. I could not sleep with the window open for fresh air because of the drunk guests wandering around outside my window. Room got hot and stuffy with the windows closed. No A/C The restaurant food is overpriced and my hamburger was dry with a stale bun. Fries cost extra. I paid $2,000 for 2 nights and would have slept better in an AirBNB for a fraction of the cost. I even complained to the front desk and they offered me nothing for free or any money back.

memorable celebration of life

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 2 weeks ago

I recently helped a client to plan a celebration of life on the Mission Blue Lawn. The panoramic views of the Golden Gate Bridge and San Francisco skyline provided a stunning backdrop for the event. The food was simply outstanding, with a variety of delicious, beautifully presented dishes that catered to all dietary preferences. I highly recommend this venue for anyone planning a celebration of life or other milestone event. In particular these team members were outstanding: Michelle banquet captain was exceptional, she ensured that everything was happening on schedule and checked in regularly Humberto banquet captain was also exceptional Khawla Servers Efraim Wendy Richard Dawa Samir Gerson Marcia Striffeler Collin AV was a huge help with the AV so that the client could just show up and not have to deal with any AV that day. He's also very fast on emails.

Long Weekend Anniversary Trip

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 2 weeks ago

My partner and I celebrated our 8 year anniversary over the long Memorial Weekend and were looking for a nice staycation. We booked our stay here via the American Express Fine Hotels and Resorts, and would do so again in the future. The location of the property provides amazing views and a feeling of serenity.
