Reviews for Cavallo Point Lodge

Nice staycation

This was our first visit. It location to the city and the rest of Marin was very good. The bell and valet staff was the best part of the stay. Britt was outstanding and his historical tour is something I would recommend.

Unique and Fantastic Historic Accommodations

This place was truly amazing! From the history preserved, the beauty of the grounds, feeling SAFE in a big city, access to the waterfront with a great view of the golden gate bridge (where we got to see sea lions away from a popular tourist area), and the KINDNESS of the staff. If you want a hotel that adds to the experience of your entire trip, this is the place to stay. The only reason I didn't give 5 stars is there is no AC (required for historical preservation). The property and buildings stay pretty cool, but our room was hot and stuffy - a heat wave came through when we visited and the outside temp was in the mid 70s with an overnight temp of low 60s. Just something to keep in mind with the time of year you book. They will provide a fan which helped and we kept our windows open at night.

My all-time favorite Bay Area stay

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 2 weeks ago

WOW! Cavallo Point knows what they're doing. I had the most wonderful time staying in the historic property. I was welcomed by a knowledgable and friendly staff. My room was ready at 10:30am, which I wasn't expecting but was thrilled to learn after a long early-morning flight. They were able to upgrade me to a Deluxe King - incredibly spacious and thoughtfully designed. Walking the grounds truly helped me escape the stress of my day-to-day, and I felt a world away. I was also able to participate in the Lexus Driving Experience. This was a highlight of my trip as I ran an errand in Marin and cruised the BEAUTIFUL headlands in a convertible. The food was delicious - surprisingly, the breakfast room service may have been my favorite. I can't say enough good things about Cavallo. I will absolutely be coming back AND recommending it to others.

One of the best places I’ve stayed. Luxury, yet not stuffy. Property is beautiful and private. Close to Muir Woods, stepson beach and more for day trips.
