So we stayed two nights at the Alexis Sonesta, and we were not wowed. The first thing that un-wowed us came when we checked in. We arrived around 12:30 and were told that there were no rooms that had been cleaned yet, but that we could come back in an hour and they'd check us in. Fair enough - we dropped our bags off and went out for lunch. We got back around an hour and a half later and were told that they'd have something for us in five minutes. We sat down. Twenty minutes or so later, they told us there was a room ready, so we went up to the desk and stood there for another fifteen or so while they tried to figure out whether there were any rooms available or not. Apparently, their high-tech system would tell them that a room had been cleaned and inspected until they tried to check someone into that room. Then it would say that the room still needed to be cleaned. Somehow, they finally confirmed a room had been cleaned and sent us on up to it. In many ways, the room was very nice. It was very spacious and reasonably well appointed. The bed was comfy as were the pillows. There was a sofa across from the TV and a balcony that we looked out on but couldn't access. Although our next-door neighbors could, meaning that we kept the drapes closed just in case. The bathroom was large and the shower was nice, but it suffered from one fatal flaw. A door that is designed not to close. Yes, it has one of those sliding barn-type doors that more or less covers the entrance to the bathroom but does not really close. Call me prim, but I like a bathroom door that closes. What corporate higher-up okayed this idiotic design choice that is completely unnecessary and makes no sense at all? (See photo.) Next morning, we went down to the restaurant - The Bookstore - to get breakfast. If check-in was painful, breakfast was comical. The woman behind the bar did the serving, and she had a habit of asking us if we needed anything, stating that she would get it for us right away, and then immediately forgetting that we'd asked her for anything. My wife asked her for coffee twice. In both cases, she said she'd get it right away, walked over and served other clients, and never brought the coffee. Finally, another server came in, we asked her for coffee and - wonder of wonders - she brought it! I also asked the original server for a cappucino, which she immediately forgot. To her credit, I asked her again and she went and made it. It wasn't a very good cappucino. So, nice room in many ways, but dumb bathroom door, awful check-in, and terrible service in the restaurant. Three stars. Mike sez check it out if you must, but there are probably better places nearby.

Upon our arrival we were greeted by the staff. Check was smooth and the property was clean and amazing. The amenities the property provide are great. All staff were friendly, helpful and attentive to our needs. Absolutely recommend staying here. Location is perfect! In walking distance to shopping, dinning and waterfront.

Nice boutique hotel. 10 minutes walk to Pike Place, although it is an uphill walk. It is also an uphill long walk to Starbucks Reserve, but the good news is that it is downhill walk the other direction. Rooms had a cool design, spacious. I really liked the bath products. There was one rainy morning where the bellman loaned us some umbrellas. That was a huge help. We didn't try breakfast here. We went to Ludi's nearby instead. The only thing about this place I wasn't crazy about was the resort fee. But other than that it was a good hotel. Bellman was helpful in getting us a taxi for the cruise ship.

I was horrified by this place. So bad that I cancelled my reservation as soon as I saw my room, paid the penalty and left .This hotel needs a complete overhaul. It's poorly laid out, dark, creepy and missing key amenities (no room service for example). They have one EV charger (valet parking only for $67 per night) that DOESN'T WORK. When I had valet bring back my car he took a smoke break first and returned my car smelling of cigarettes. Don't believe the pictures. Shame on the MANAGER of this property and whoever owns this. They clearly don't care about true hospitality.

Excellent hotel with a perfect location! We spent two nights here and absolutely loved our stay. The beds were extremely comfortable, BUT the best part was the location. Easy access to the waterfront with many options for lunch or dinner as well as a short walk to Pike Place. There’s a Target near Pike Place also. I would highly recommend staying at this hotel.
