When the property now known as The Fairmont Olympic Hotel, Seattle debuted in the Roaring Twenties, it marked the arrival of the Pacific Northwest – until then, hotels of that caliber were found east of Chicago. It hosted countless galas, debutante balls and presidential visits – JFK stayed here in 1961 – and, in 1979, joined the ranks of the National Register of Historic Places. Italian Renaissance architecture and Old World style meld into a centrally located Seattle landmark that hosts a AAA Four Diamond Award-winning restaurant and one of the city's oldest oyster bars.

Extra credit i forgot to give to some very kind employees. i wrote my review already last week and i wanted to add how great all your staff are. i forgot to mention Eric from the Espresso Bar in the morning. so efficient and always great with us. also wanted to mention Darla and of course Mama from Shuckers. so professional and made our dinners so enjoyable outside and inside. we remembered all of them from years ago. they deserve credit for sure. thank you so much.

I was celebrating a special birthday with a trip to Seattle and chose to stay at the Fairmont Olympic Hotel. It was a 5-star experience on all levels. The hotel staff went above and beyond to make it a memorable trip. The hotel can best be described as "grand". It has a beautiful lobby/check-in/bar area that is elegant and reminds you of a by-gone era. I was in a Jr. Suite and it was lovely. The bed and linens were exquisite. It had a huge bathroom and spacious living area as well. I also ate at the bar twice and it was delicious. Ordered room service as well twice and it was prompt and arrived hot. The hotel is also in an excellent location. I took a tour that met at the Seattle Library which was just one block away. The hotel is also near a huge Target if you need anything during your stay and there are numerous restaurants nearby. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend this hotel to anyone looking for a lovely, comfortable, upscale place to stay in Seattle!

Horrible experience checking in post cruise. Front desk staff was misleading and condescending and required management involvement to get a room. Once situated , the room which was described as a complimentary upgrade, had obvious shortcomings and appeared to not be regularly used. Stains were noted on the walls in the bathroom and after 48 hrs the room was not cleaned nor were towels replenished. Had to get towels and toilet paper from a cart in hallway on my own. Coffee in the lobby was taken away at 7 am in the coffee capital of the USA. Very disappointing for a “luxury hotel” and crossing Fairmont off my list in the future

Booked a Jr Suite for the night for my fiance's birthday. Showed up right at 4pm and was told the "room is not ready." Ok, fine. They gave us a $75 credit for the lobby bar. An hour goes by and I check again. "Still not ready" another 45 mins goes by (making it almost 6pm) and they finally bring our room keys over. Almost two hours after check in and our room is finally ready? In what world is that acceptable for a $500 a night room?! For how little time we are actually at the hotel, 2 hours is a lot of time. Whats even worse is we were coming from a Hot Tub Boat excursion and had dinner reservations at 7pm. This left my fiance no time to get showered and ready for our fancy dinner. So we missed our reservations and ended up eating pizza in the room. Ill never book here again its an absolute ridiculous notion that a reserved room wouldnt be ready until 6pm when check in is 4pm. Oh and our "room with a view" was just facing another building and if you crooked your neck to the side and pressed against the window you could see a little bit of the Puget Sound. What a rip off.

From the moment we pulled up to the Fairmont, we knew we were in for something special. The hotel is absolutely beautiful—elegant and inviting from the very first impression. The front desk staff couldn’t have been more welcoming and gracious, setting the tone for a stay that felt both luxurious and personal. We stayed in a junior suite, which was perfect for our family of three. The space was thoughtfully laid out, with a comfortable pull-out couch for our son and all the details that make traveling with a child feel seamless and enjoyable. Dinner at Shuckers, the hotel restaurant, was a highlight. The cocktails were exceptional, and the service was top-notch—not just for us as adults, but for our son as well. The staff treated him like a regular, attentive and kind in a way that made him feel truly special. He hasn’t stopped talking about his dinner—and especially the dessert! The most heartwarming touch came at the end of the night. When we returned to our room, the staff had laid out a junior-sized terry cloth robe just for him. His face lit up with delight—it was such a sweet and memorable moment, and one of those little details that turns a great stay into a magical one. The Fairmont Seattle is a beautiful, welcoming place on its own—but the thoughtfulness and care extended to every member of our family made it unforgettable. We can’t wait to return.
