Reviews for W Seattle

A Consistently Comfortable Business Stay

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 6 days ago

I’ve stayed at the W Seattle over 10 times for business, and it continues to be my go-to hotel in the city. The front desk team is consistently warm, professional, and genuinely hospitable — they always make check-in feel personal, not transactional. The rooms are reliably clean and comfortable, with great beds and all the essentials for a work trip. While the decor is starting to feel a bit dated compared to other W properties, everything is well-maintained and functional. Housekeeping does an excellent job every time. What really stands out is the in-room dining. The menu is thoughtful and high-quality, and the in-room dining staff are prompt, friendly, and efficient. It makes winding down after a long day that much easier. More than anything, I always feel at home when I stay here — a rare and appreciated feeling for frequent travelers. Looking forward to my next visit.

Uncomfortable

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 6 days ago

The most uncomfortable bed I have ever slept in, my back would have been better off sleeping in the floor or the sofa. Thin duvet, flat pillows and ripped sheet, plus a noisy AC unit which turns on and off just as you think you might eventually sleep.

Great hotel with the most friendly staff. Lauren, Drew and Sheila were incredibly helpful and always smiling willing to go the extra mile to help. Room at the 7th floor was nice. Our view to the parking garage was not an issue since we are hardly in our room. Noises coming from the parking garage, usually at 03:00 AM, can be bothersome if you are a light sleeper. The W is located at a walking distance to most attractions. Public transportation is amazing; you can get anywhere in the city with less than $3.00.

Very Good, Standard W Experience

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 2 weeks ago

The W Seattle achieves all the marks of a premium hotel and is clearly a W, but doesn't shine within the W portfolio as some of the newer W's do (e.g., Philadelphia, Rome). Downtown Seattle is a bit of a mess with homelessness and what feels like very few tourists, so this doesn't add to the situation, but the W does feel like a lovely oasis in Downtown Seattle. Upon checking in I was warmly greeted and thanked for being an ambassador guest. I was upgraded to a Studio Suite, which is by no means a suite, but still a decent room. As an Ambassador you get free breakfast, which was $40 a day that was available in the restaurant or as room service. Breakfast was great. I ended up having room service each day, and keeping it under $40. The room had enough space, but nothing felt as unique as the newer W's, though the views were good. The bathroom was very eh, achieving what I would expect out of a renaissance, not a luxury brand. The bath/shower were a combo and it didn't have any sexiness to it! All-in-all if you're looking for a Bonvoy property in Seattle this one does the job well, and at a decent price point. I think it achieves all the aspects of a good premium hotel, but doesn't really stretch to be a luxury hotel. I wish it did, but also, that's not really what the Seattle market seems to be looking for.

Disappointing

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 1 month ago

We booked a day room before our late flight back. The lobby was full of check in at one person working. We waited quite some time to get our room. I did not feel the desk staff cordial whatsoever. The room was very nice, spacious and comfortable. We had the room until 3 PM. At 20 till there was an aggressive knock on our door. I opened it to hear a staff say “when are you leaving?“ I replied at checkout time and shut the door. The location is quite a walk to the riverfront. Certainly not be “W” hospitality that we are used to. We were not recognized as being members. I would not stay at this site again.
