W Seattle
1112 4th Ave
Seattle, Washington

Nearest Airport: SEA
The W Seattle achieves all the marks of a premium hotel and is clearly a W, but doesn't shine within the W portfolio as some of the newer W's do (e.g., Philadelphia, Rome). Downtown Seattle is a bit of a mess with homelessness and what feels like very few tourists, so this doesn't add to the situation, but the W does feel like a lovely oasis in Downtown Seattle. Upon checking in I was warmly greeted and thanked for being an ambassador guest. I was upgraded to a Studio Suite, which is by no means a suite, but still a decent room. As an Ambassador you get free breakfast, which was $40 a day that was available in the restaurant or as room service. Breakfast was great. I ended up having room service each day, and keeping it under $40. The room had enough space, but nothing felt as unique as the newer W's, though the views were good. The bathroom was very eh, achieving what I would expect out of a renaissance, not a luxury brand. The bath/shower were a combo and it didn't have any sexiness to it! All-in-all if you're looking for a Bonvoy property in Seattle this one does the job well, and at a decent price point. I think it achieves all the aspects of a good premium hotel, but doesn't really stretch to be a luxury hotel. I wish it did, but also, that's not really what the Seattle market seems to be looking for.

We booked a day room before our late flight back. The lobby was full of check in at one person working. We waited quite some time to get our room. I did not feel the desk staff cordial whatsoever. The room was very nice, spacious and comfortable. We had the room until 3 PM. At 20 till there was an aggressive knock on our door. I opened it to hear a staff say “when are you leaving?“ I replied at checkout time and shut the door. The location is quite a walk to the riverfront. Certainly not be “W” hospitality that we are used to. We were not recognized as being members. I would not stay at this site again.

Location: Uber/Lyft is expensive coming from the airport. Take the Link light rail to the Symphony station. It’s a 3 min walk to the W, however, it will be uphill so be prepared but it’s definitely doable. The hotel is walking distance to the waterfront, Pike Place, and Westlake shopping area. It is about a 30 min walk to the Space Needle. Room: Spacious and comfortable bed. I was disappointed by the amount of dust on the desk, walls, and fixtures. Also for it being a W hotel (luxury) I was expecting a robe to be in the closet but it was not. Overall it is a good hotel but not the luxury standard I am use to. The staff member at check in was friendly and acknowledged my status level.

We chose this hotel for a 2 night stay due to its central location. We arrived off a cruise ship early in the morning, and we just expected to drop our bags off. However, the receptionist said whilst he did not have the corner suite we had against our name, he did have one ready on the 12th floor, which we accepted. The room was spacious and well appointed. The room was relatively quiet during the night with the exceptional occasional sounds of emergency service sirens. It did not disturb sleep thought as the beds were so comfortable. Breakfast was cafe style with you ordering at a counter and the food/drink delivered to you by a member of staff. Checking out was very simple and efficient, and they have facilities to store luggage. I would highly recommend this hotel.

I stayed at this hotel in May for business reasons and overall had a decent experience. Some brief pros and cons below. I'd be overall happy to stay again. Pros: - convenient location - allowed a later checkout - spacious room Cons: - there was a gym but no sauna, which is something that's always nice - had a few bottles of water for free in the hotel room but also had a few bottles marked $5. Just felt a little tacky - very long room, so configuration was a little odd - check-in took awhile
