We highly recommend this resort. So many special touches to make the trip memorable and convenient in every way. The food was outstanding; the service was phenomenal! Mariposa (right next door on the hotel property) is a must - as is the hot air balloon ride!!!

The landscaping around the hotel is beautiful. Each free-standing room is well-appointed, and the bed was comfortable. The pool water felt very soft; although it's not a salt-water pool, there was no smell of chlorine and the water was perfectly clear. From the moment we were greeted until we drove away in the newly-washed car, we were treated like royalty. This made our special day even more special!

Unbelievable service! The setting is gorgeous! Literally the best customer service I’ve ever experienced at any resort or hotel.

My husband and I enjoyed a week's stay at the Ambiente to celebrate a milestone anniversary. It was amazing and far exceeded our expectations based on what we read/saw on-line. The property is intimate and the rooms (atriums) are nestled among the trees and rocks. Wherever you walk there are little streams or waterfalls of water and at night the lights just create a beautiful little hidden gem. We stayed in Atrium #14 and had a little waterfall outside our expansive window with stunning views of the mountains and rustic landscape. It was our treat in the morning to open the electric drapes and be wowed by the view in front of us! It was incredibly quiet and there was no road noise OR noise of any kind! Completely tranquil! The pool area was an easy walk and I would maybe say that because the pool, the outside dining area, and restaurant (Forty1) all share basically the same space it did seem on occasion a bit tight. However, there was never an occasion where we were not able to get a wonderful seat at the pool or in the dining areas. Our atrium was beautifully appointed and there was an amazing black Japanese soaking tub in the bath area. Plenty of space in the storage area, BR, and there was a small kitchenette type area with beverage refrig., coffee service, snacks, etc. Large corner sectional couch shared the bedroom area and it was comfort, comfort, comfort wherever you looked. The bathroom area was painted a dark moody color and the whole feel of the atrium was luxurious. The rooftop deck was the icing on the cake and although we had cloud coverage most nights it was still amazing to get the whole 360 degree view and we enjoyed sitting by the fire. We discovered when visiting one of the galleries at Tlaquepaque that the piece of artwork hanging in our bathroom was a one of a kind art piece by David Barkby. He uses different pieces of burl wood to create these amazing art pieces and because they are from different trees each is a one of a kind. There is a very large piece of his art that hangs in the spa area. It is exquisite and worth going to view! All of the staff at the Ambiente were wonderful and we were particularly fond of Danny at the front desk and all the guys who shuttled us to various local sights/restaurants. They could not have been more helpful and we had valet guys bringing us ice, they helped us with questions with our atrium, ran errands for us...truly great great attitudes and lovely people! The shuttle service was wonderful (must be within 2 miles of desired location) as you didn't need to worry about directions or parking (typically at a premium) and we never waited more than a few minutes to be picked up to come back to the Ambiente. The folks at the pool area and dining area were also attentive, friendly, and anxious to assist us as needed. Service was wonderful wherever we went on the property and there was always someone who was anxious to make sure we had everything we needed. Wasn't sure what a "landscape hotel" would look like but once you are here you completely understand. There is such great integration between the indigenous trees/plants/flowers and the more tailored walkways with structured plantings but it all looks so natural and it is quite beautiful. I was quite taken by the use of a few, what appeared to be, "dead" trees. They were strung with lots of lights and had colored spotlights on them so at night they came to life in such a beautiful and creative way! The pool area was especially beautiful at night as well as there were lights that changed colors and various fire pits between streams of water going into the pool. There is also a very pretty pond area with koi fish near the spa entrance. This property is simply stunning and we would welcome the opportunity to return! If you have the chance....treat yourself!

Awesome place. Staff is tremendous. The room layouts which they call Atriums is very cool. Food was great. My only negative is the super high prices. I am never cool with $25 or more for a small cocktail. $12 for a latte?
