I so wanted to give this 5 stars. Because the staff deserve it. They were spectacular. And the resort is quite unique. 40 casita’s across 4 acres, beautifully designed with everything (and I mean everything) extremely high end. Nothing was cheaped out on. Except purposeful room design choices that are just too glaring to ignore: lack of privacy, lack of lights, and lack of bathroom doors. Read on as to WHY these things are massive misses in a resort where everything else is near perfect. Grounds: A 40 Casita’s across multiple acres, with a man made creek running through it to reduce street noise (which it does well) and right at the base of major hiking trails. Yes, you can sometimes hear the highway but that didn’t bother me. The grounds are beautifully done and meandering through the casita’s is interesting. The pool is large for the # of guests. Check-in: B- There are 4 categories of rooms. I booked the 2nd most expensive. The description says surrounded by trees/nature. The lower class room says surrounded by pool/restaurant. The front desk attendant says “We couldn’t give you an upgrade for your Amex Plat status due to it being holiday, but don’t worry we gave you the BEST room in the category you booked”. The room? Overlooking the restaurant with the roof (exhaust fan constantly running) as our eye sight line. The mountain is off in the distance but who would be able to see it when you have to keep your shades clothes as all the restaurant patrons would be staring at you. There is no way this was the class of room i booked. And I pointed out they need to change their descriptions. They did move us to a different room as we complained which was better but still not private. Because….. Rooms: C This is where things go wrong. it should be an A. Every piece of furniture is high end, the bed super comfy. Each casita has a roof deck with fire pit to watch the stars. But…yet but….they messed up in a few crucial areas: First, almost every casita faces the walkway so it’s not private, instead of facing nature. If your shades are open, people can see in. Ok, annoying. But (second issue) the rooms have hardly any lights! When you close the shades, you are in a vampire den. The walls are black, the tub is black, the surfaces are all black. The few lights are very dim. You cannot read in the room. You cannot see your outfit in the mirror. If you order room service you will be sitting in absolute darkness. But (issue 3) you can’t even keep your shades open during the day because there are no bathroom doors! The only place to be in the bathroom for no one to see you outside is in the bathtub or shower, but if someone comes to your front door you can’t open it as they would see you in both . Want to get dressed in front of the (open) closet? nope, must close shades. Or chose to get dressed in the tub or shower. There is literally no privacy. So anytime you are in the room you have to close the shades and revert to vampire den. It’s so bad, so annoying, and so obviously fixable why don’t they!!!??? At check out I brought this up and she goes “yes, that’s why we give you a flashlight”. WTF!!!! And “we can bring you small tea lights if you needed them”. Again, WTF!!!! Why do I need a flashlight for the inside of my bedroom to be able to pee and get dressed?? Make. It.Make.Sense. Food: A Meals were stellar. Would recommend. Service: A+ This is where they SHINE. Staff to guest ratio is extremely high. You ask for something, they are speeding to you to bring it. Everyone is super friendly and helpful. And there is no nickel and diming. Free high-end water bottles in the room. Free snack and drinks. And it’s why I wanted to give 5 stars, just for the staff alone. Location: A- Right outside the main town but allows you to avoid the traffic, close to many restaurants, and right at the base of a few hiking trails. They just should have set back the hotel a bit more from the highway to reduce some noise. The views from the hotel are amazing and it’s why the roofdecks are such a nice choice. Spa: B- My massage was A+ quality and the massage room nicely designed. But they only have a few treatment rooms and put the spa below the lobby so there is noise during your treatment. They should have built a casita to be the spa and put it out in nature, not below the lobby. That would have made it more special. Would I still recommend Ambiente? Yes, for the staff and uniqueness of the resort. Just realize your casita is not private unless you book the 4 or 5 rooms (out of 40) that face nature.

From the moment we arrived at Ambiente Sedona, the hospitality and attention to detail made us feel truly welcomed and cared for. Every member of the team was warm, friendly, and genuinely focused on ensuring our stay was exceptional — from the seamless valet arrival to the knowledgeable concierge and cheerful housekeeping staff. Each atrium offers floor-to-ceiling glass views that frame the stunning Sedona red rock landscape, and the private rooftop terrace with firepit is an absolute highlight — perfect for enjoying sunset or stargazing under Sedona’s dark skies. The interior décor feels luxuriously modern yet seamlessly connected to the natural beauty outside. The comfort of the beds, thoughtfully curated in-room amenities (including snacks, drinks, and a stylish wet bar), and impeccable cleanliness all stood out. Dining at the on-site restaurant was delicious and beautifully presented, matching the overall elevated vibe of the property. Whether relaxing by the pool, indulging in a spa day, or exploring nearby hiking trails right from the property, Ambiente offers a perfect blend of serenity, adventure, and luxury. Highly recommend this adults-only retreat for couples, honeymooners, or anyone looking for a peaceful yet unforgettable getaway in Arizona.

Amazing grounds, with exquisite atriums / suites and outstanding views when accessing roof tops at each single units. Our bath sink would not drain well, if I had to add something, I wish Toto toilets were installed and heated floors. It remains a very expensive property at Hyatt’s Mr and Ms Smith or Fine Hotels with Amex

We had a short stay at the Ambiente but a 10/10 experience. Absolutely beautiful and the hospitality from the staff was amazing. The food at the restaurant was delicious, and we enjoyed every item we tried. Definitely a great couples getaway option!

Ambiente was a beautiful experience! I went alone to celebrate my 40th birthday and the staff made it special. It was a pricey experience but worth it.
