Loccoloba Beach Restaurant - Kimpton Seafire Hotel

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 1 day ago

We recently spent a week at the Kimpton Seafire Hotel in the Cayman Islands. We had a wonderful time. The hotel property was beautiful, spotlessly clean and well maintained. Rooms were well appointed and spacious. The hotel offered a variety of food options. Our favourite -Loccoloba on the beach was a great spot for both lunch and dinner. The menu was mostly Mexican driven with a variety of of tacos, tostados, bowls, etc. Everything was fresh and super tasty - with a variety of vegetable, meat and fish offerings. The manager, Arpi has created a wonderful, inviting atmosphere and his staff were all so friendly and professional. He made his way to all the tables greeting and chatting with the customers - ensuring everyone was enjoying their food and having fun. A great spot. We went multiple times and thoroughly enjoyed our meals. We'll definitely be back.

Grand Cayman has my whole heart after this trip!!

We stayed at this property for 9 nights! Taking everything into account- this is by far my favorite place we have ever stayed! The rooms are spacious and modern! The beds are super comfortable- and I love that they clean your room twice a day/do turn down service at night! The ocean and beach at this property are incredible! The water is crystal clear, and completely calm! And the sand is white powder! It is truly a dream! The hotel provides lots of complimentary non motorized water activities for the guests- which is super great! The food on this property is absolutely delicious! Quality versus quantity is much preferred- and they nail it! Our favorite place to eat was Cocoloba! Everything on the menu we tried, we loved! And for a family with little kiddos who can't sit still, this restaurant was perfect! The kids can play in the water while eating with your toes in the sand! The entertainment at night was also super fun for keeping the kids entertained (salsa night and mariachi night)! Our favorites were the latin burger, the elote, the pork belly tacos, the dulce vida and Pina coladas! The list could go on! The coffee shop in the morning was great! The rotating pastry assortment is wonderful! I loved the cronuts and the tower croissant!! Whoever makes all their pastries/ chocolates/ and desserts throughout the resort is so so talented! In regards to bringing kids- we loved the splash pad, the welcome stuffed animals, and the free food for kids under 5 (which is actually a large selection of foods, and really high quality food on the kids menu)! There could be some improvements in terms of child care options. The kids club is only for children 5 and over. This should be changed to allow kids of all ages. The kids club could also use a makeover- there are hardly any toys for kiddos, and it just feels dark and unwelcoming. They do have childcare as an option for kids under 5, but only for kids over 2, and for a very steep price per hour. The second area we see could use improvement is for the beach/pool service. They should consider extending the time that service is provided until sunset (or 6pm). We did love the flags they use that you can put up and down anytime you need service- this was such a great concept, and the servers were extremely responsive the minute you put your flag up! The final area we would like to mention could use some improvement is the library bar. We tried 5 drinks at the library bar, and went 0/5 on liking any of them. None the drinks were balanced. We love cocktails, and enjoy cocktails on the regular....and this was a huge miss for such a fun concept! We would love to give a shoutout to some employees that we felt went above and beyond to make our stay so special! Beverlyne at cocoloba provided wonderful service, Karina at beach service was so friendly and always on top of our food and drink orders! Lastly, Ute in management was incredible! She reached out multiple times to make sure we were having a wonderful stay, and went above and beyond to resolve any issues that arose! Thank you Kimpton Seafire for such a wonderful trip! I look forward to hopefully returning every year! We loved it so so much!

The Perfect Stay

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 2 days ago

Truly, never have I ever been so blow away by a hotel and its staff. I'd like to use the term speechless, but I'm about to write a book. I travel *a ton* and have decent status across lots of hotel brands (IHG Diamond, Bonvoy Titanium, Hyatt Globalist, etc). I'm like to think that I'm a fairly easy-going traveler, but I always find something to complain to myself about. Not here. I kept waiting for that moment and it never came. Zero things went wrong, zero things rubbed me the wrong way. Every experience at every turn was simply perfect. The rooms are magnificent; well appointment, comfortable, stylish. We stayed in a King Premium Ocean View room, which worked well for our family of four (two adults, a 3 year old and a 3 month old). We were comfortable in the space, and the view was simply astonishing. I made a half-hearted ask at the front desk for an upgrade to something a little bigger, and when they didn't have anything, I paid no mind. If you can't be happy with the room type you book, you shouldn't have booked it in the first place! Upgrades are a perk, not a right. However, the hotel went on a tireless search for another room for me. I got daily apologies from the staff for not having an upgrade. I told them immediately that we were very happy with our setup and didn't need them to look any further; it was so sweet for them to be so concerned and involved in this for us. Shoutout to MODs Ute (who sent us a nice card and a bottle of wine) and Shandie (who helped us at check out) for their attention to this. If you all are reading this, I repeat: we were so happy with our room - no need to apologize ever again!! :) The beach is something straight out of a movie: warm, calm water and a white sandy beach that never seemed to be busy. Pool was a fantastic temperature, plenty of seating and never too crowded. They even had a little pool that was only 2ft deep - perfect for our three year old to splash around in, but made it impossible for us to get him out at the end of the day! Special shoutout here to Richard, the beach/pool attendant, who was always super helpful in setting up chairs at the beach and kids pool. Always knew the best shaded spots to make sure that our baby could be comfortable. Also want to shout out a pool bar server whose name I didn't catch... tall gentleman whose name starts with an R and whose family lives back in India at the moment. He was great and helped us out daily! On-property food was great. Not just for a resort - it was truly wonderful! Everything came out lightning quick, and hot! Not hot like it was sitting in a hotbox or something - hot and fresh. I don't know how they do it! Special shoutout here to Gerly, our server most days at breakfast. She remembered our son and even when she wasn't assigned to our table, would come over and say hello. Towards the end of the trip, our son would walk into breakfast and say, "where's my friend??" and go looking for her. She and the rest of the servers made us feel welcome with our kids, even when they were acting up a bit. It can feel intimidating bringing kids into a restaurant, or you can feel as though you shouldn't be there if your kids start behaving... like kids. But not around Gerly and team. We felt like we belonged, which is something every parent can appreciate. Finally, one last huge, special shoutout to Clara at the front desk who checked us in. She was the highlight of our trip. She was always glowing when we passed by - so friendly and positive. She remembered everything about us; like how our son loves donuts so much that he has them on his swim trunks. At the end of her shift one day, she tracked us down with a bag and gave it to him. Inside the bag was a nice card ("I haven't seen you today, so wanted to give you a surprise!") and a couple of donuts! He was over the moon and talked about it for the rest of the trip. Can't thank her enough for making us feel at home. The staff was always positive, always happy to help and always addressed us by name. The beach directly in front of the property is exquisite, and the pool is wonderful. The food was outstanding. The rooms were gorgeous and comfortable. The perfect stay.

Lovely Hotel

The hotel and staff were excellent. They gladly helped with any questions and making us comfortable was their main goal. We had fun using their included paddle boards and Hobie Cat sailboat. Beach service and free happy hour was great!! We would definitely visit again!

Excellent Tour

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 4 days ago

Our school trip to the hotel was an exciting and informative experience. As we walked through the doors, we were immediately greeted with a comprehensive tour of the hotel's various facilities. From the moment we arrived, we were given a behind-the-scenes look at the hotel's inner workings. Our tour guide showed us around the different parts of the hotel, pointing out interesting features and sharing fascinating facts about its operations. We got to see the hotel's kitchen, where we learned about the culinary team's preparation and presentation of meals. We also visited the hotel's rooms, where we learned about the amenities and services available to guests. The tour was engaging and well-structured, making it easy for us to follow along and absorb all the information. Overall, our visit to the hotel was a great way to learn about hospitality and tourism, and it was an enjoyable experience that we won't soon forget.
