Reviews for Anse Chastanet

Wonderful trip. Fantastic resort

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 1 week ago

We have visited the Caribbean quite a few times and this was one of the best trips. Location near pitons, bays, tropical forests are a bit of a unique combination. Views from our room were fantastic. The resort had standout service! Best food I have had at an all inclusive. Will be back. Highly recommend visiting restaurant at Anse Mamin. Also recommend walking further down to Anse Jambon if you like deserted rocky beaches. A couple of facts to be aware of: 1) a lot of steps to get to rooms higher on hillside. Happy to pay this cost for the view. But on retrospect we should have taken the free shuttle service on way back from dinner from Apsara (restaurant at beach level) 2) Road into resort is pretty rough. It limited our desire to go off on exploratory trips to island, but frankly a larger part of decision was that we were perfectly happy at the resort.

A great place to experience St. Lucia in luxury

We loved this resort. As soon as we got there they upgraded our room, which was totally unexpected and greatly appreciated. The rooms are spacious and clean. We had a great view of the water and enjoyed sitting in our outside living room every morning absorbing the view of the water and listening to the nature around us. It was such a peaceful way to start our day. We really enjoyed the 2 beautiful beaches they have and snorkled at the coral reef right off the shore. The service was excellent, their staff is very accommodating and friendly. They really went above and beyond for us. Its a great place to relax and unwind from a hetic lifestyle.

BEAUTIFUL AND UNIQUE RESORT - FABULOUS SERVICE - DELICIOUS FOOD

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 2 weeks ago

My wife and I stayed at Anse Chastanet for five wonderful nights. Here's the highlights: Location is secluded and peaceful. Natural rustic vibe with five star service and amenities. Food choices and quality were excellent with several dining options each day and night. The staff is lovely, accommodating, responsive and professional. Activities are varied and of tremendous quality. We will be returning to the property next year. Read on for details. Staff and service: From hotel manager Jonathan Baptiste to every member of the staff at Anse Chastanet, we want to extend our sincerest thanks for your friendly, helpful and professional service. Peter, one of the duty managers went out of his way to welcome us to the resort and to later in our stay arrange a tour of sister property Jade Mountain. All of the servers , chefs and restaurant staff under the leadership of Ryan were exceptional. A special thank you to Shawnette who provided consistent friendly, warm and caring service to us on several occasions. Also greatly appreciated the handmade margaritas prepared for us by bartender Dynelle. Location and Rooms: We stayed in room 8B near the top of the resort. It was peaceful, private and a true sanctuary. We had a lovely view of the Caribbean Sea with a consistently enjoyable breeze. No insect or bug issues and although there is a steep walk up from the main restaurant and reception (and a longer climb up stairs from the beach) we had no trouble handling the walk ( we're both 65 this year) and there is always a shuttle available if you need it. Activities: I went on four dives with Scuba St.Lucia which is right on property. Amazing reef life. You will not be disappointed. Kenias, Kwame and Dave were all great dive masters and the rest of the scuba staff was welcoming and helpful. We also went on two boat trips. Captain Kerwin and First Mate Thaddeus took us for a delightful half day sail on the Julia. We had a wonderful time on a perfect sailing day. Graeme and Grace were our crew for a water taxi up to Castries to shop at the Saturday morning public market and tour the town square and visit the Castries Catholic Church. It was a great excursion. I even had an opportunity to get "schooled" on the tennis court by property manager Jonathan. Enjoyed it thoroughly! Food - We enjoyed our all inclusive plan tremendously. The seafood on property is fresh and delicious and the choices varied. We took great advantage of the morning buffet which had fresh fruit, many fresh baked goods, smoked salmon, cheeses, yogurt parfaits and more. We mostly either skipped lunch or had a light lunch on the beach. (Shrimp cocktail and Salad Nicoise were both excellent). Dinner had great choices and a fresh catch of the day. The Tuesday buffet was delicious and huge! We felt Anse Chastanet was a great value and a unique, charming, relaxing resort to which we are eager to return.

Very impressed

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 3 weeks ago

Saint Lucia is our favourite island in the Caribbean and this was our sixth visi but our first time at Anse Chastanet. We were very pleased with our stay for the most part with a couple of caveats. After arriving at the airport, we found the Air Canada rep who directed us to the Anse Chastanet rep, a very nice woman who had us in our private transportation within 5 minutes. Our driver, Roger, was very friendly. As other guests have mentioned, it takes approximately one hour to get to the resort and the last section of road is extremely narrow and bumpy. We were warmly greeted, filled out and signed a number of forms and were taken to our room 8B. Most of the rooms are on a very steep hill and ours was one of the highest. We had a beautiful view of the ocean - no view of the Pitons. The climb to and from the main dining room, Balawoo, as well as the beach was a real grunt but we did not mind as we are fit seniors and that was our main exercise of the day. One of our disappointments, however, was our room. I realize that all the rooms are unique and none are the same but our room in no way resembled the photo on the website! It was much smaller, darker and tired looking. The wooden slats were dusty as were some of the corners of the room. The bed was comfortable - we slept well. There were plenty of toiletries and white fluffy towels in the bathroom. We had an open veranda with a bar fridge filled with wine, beer and soft drinks. There was a coffee maker which we used every morning around 6:30 for our first coffee. Aside from the sound of the tree frogs and the birds, it was very quiet. We never heard any of our neighbours. The staff and food for the most part were top notch. Although there were several options for dinner, we always ate at Balawoo. There was lots to choose from and everything was delicious. The servers, particularly Lucy Anne, were very friendly and polite. All the tables have a view of the ocean. The only option for lunch at the Anse Chastanet beach was the Trou au Diable restaurant on the beach. This was a disappointment. The food was average at best. It did not hold a candle to the quality and variety of the food at Balawoo. Most of the servers just seemed to be going through the motions of being polite and moderately friendly. They seemed rather glum and unhappy. The beach barbeque Tuesday evening was spectacular. Appetizers and cocktails were served first, then there was a very large buffet to choose from. Everything was delicious. It was a real treat to have dinner right near the water's edge. The service at the beach was top notch. An employee would put down 2 towels on your lounge chair for you. There are lots and lots of chairs so no need to reserve one. If you put out the yellow flag, an employee would bring you drinks or food. We paddle boarded, kayaked and snorkelled. The beach never seemed terribly busy and was quite peaceful except for the occasional party boat going by. My husband had a minor medical problem while we were there. The very nice receptionist put him in touch with a doctor right away. The doctor also sent over some medicine the following day. The clientele was a mix of all ages. At 69 & 76 we were some of the older people there. There were lots of families there with teenagers. I think there is an age restriction so there were no small children. All in all we thoroughly enjoyed our stay except for the 2 aspects I mentioned.

I loved the open air design of this resort. We had a phenomenal view of the pitons from our room. All the staff was so kind and welcoming. Would definitely stay here again

“Great service, authentic island feel, perfect spot for snorkeling (guests from other hotels come here to snorkel and dive), & Anse Mamin has the best burger ever!”

We traveled to St. Lucia and stayed at Anse Chasanet - it was wonderful. Our suite, built on a mountain, was completely open yet very private. There were no phones or TVs to distract from the area's true beauty. It truly made our honeymoon more memorable. I would highly recommend Anse Chasanet to all future honeymooners!
