About the Hotel

There is no fourth wall in villas at Ladera – instead, there is the jaw-dropping backdrop of the Pitons, two mountainous volcanic spires that attract adventure-seekers from across the world. A faint tropical breeze wafts from the Caribbean Sea far below through netting on a four-poster bed carved from polished tropical hardwood. Incentive to leave your room can be found in chef Nigel Mitchel's creative interpretation of traditional island fare – try the roast conch served with organic vegetables from the neighboring plantation.

Reviews for Ladera Resort

Nice place but needs better maintenance.

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 1 day ago

First of all a thank you for putting a bottle of champagne and a plate of chocolate dipped fruit in our suite to acknowledge my wife’s and my birthday on the same day. Also the view from our Rainbow Suite #A2 was absolutely perfect as it is from the breakfast and dinner restaurants. We do have a few suggestions however and hope you will take them in the spirit in which they are intended - as constructive criticism to make Ladera even better. The first is something that doesn’t cost anyone a penny but makes a huge difference - train your restaurant servers to smile -it’s the very basis of hospitality. Frankly they made us feel as though we were disturbing them being there. While on the restaurant you might like to upgrade your jams at breakfast, which come in tiny portions and have the consistency of baby food. Now on to the suite - having one side open is an “interesting “ feature, but in such a hot, humid climate you need more floor fans and on both levels - ours was a two story suite, plus on our sole floor fan both the speed and oscillating buttons were broken. We did, as always, love having our private plunge pool and in the oppressive humidity used it a lot. By the way you need to fix the plug in the bathroom sink which goes down but doesn’t come back up and the hot and cold taps are reversed. The maintenance man came but could not fix it. These may sound like trivial things but at $1200 a night they should not occur.

Please specify 2 beer daily limit for mini bar. They don’t restock!

Mini bar is NOT restocked as advertised. Only 2 piton per day! We stayed a Sandals prior to coming to Ladera for 2 days reason we booked was for the views. 2 nights cost an $2700 knowing the mini bar was restocked as advertised. We pretty much paid for the “view” which was amazing. After my husband finished the “2 beers” in the fridge we ask for more to be restocked. They said only 2 per day limit. If I knew (as I did extensive research) I would of stopped by the store coming from Sandals to stock. Instead on top of the 2700/2 nights. You pay $6/beer not including tax and tips! Felt the resort should specify what they really offer for the mini bar. I even asked if the fridge run out of water do we pay for it as well? Other than that everyone was really nice. Once in a life time experience is enough but Will not be come back to get my arm and leg chopped off again note to management please specify 2 beer limit on your website.

Ladera Resort was an epic experience

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 4 days ago

Unbelievably epic experience!! Our open air room was a serene sanctuary, with extraordinary views of the Pitons with our own private plunge pool. Daily breakfast was included at the Dasheen restaurant and we enjoyed their nightly dinner as well. The dinner menu changes nightly and consistently offered a savory culinary experience!! The seafood pasta was outstanding!! The resort offers a scenic hike through their beautifully maintained tropical landscape that is not to be missed!! The views at the top were breathtaking, and we were treated to a spectacular rainbow across the pitons!! We were in awe of the tree house!! The resort is currently building what looks to be an epic spa sanctuary with a pool and sauna. They currently offer in room massages until the new spa is up and running. As amazing as our room, scenic views, and culinary experiences were, it was the staff that set this resort apart from any other resort we have traveled to in the past 10 years! The staff at Ladera provide an atmosphere that is both welcoming and warm. The staff's commitment to personalized care and friendly service was demonstrated by every staff member that we encountered, each person knew our name and recalled personal details about us. Lee, the hostess at the Dasheen restaurant, greeted us each morning with her bright smile and genuinely warm welcome and took time to talk with us each day. Our stay included Mother’s Day. Lee worked every day during our 6 day vacation including on Mother’s Day. She was always extremely professional, warm, engaging and genuinely excited to spend her day with her guests and the connection that she made with us will stay in our hearts!! Jovana, Jennifer, and Mariska, the Dasheen wait staff, greeted us with their lovely bright smiles each day! Mariska asked the Country band to play our Wedding song “I cross my heart” for our 3rd Wedding Anniversary that we celebrated at the resort, and I saw the manager confer with the singer to let him know our names so that when the song ended he addressed us by our names and congratulated us on our Anniversary, such an amazing personalized touch!! Sherin welcomed us to the resort with a warm smile, a refreshing mint infused towel, and a delicious welcome cocktail!! She remembered our names and asked about our day and how our trip was going each time we saw her during our stay. Ladera is a once in a lifetime experience!! A friend of mine still recalls his honeymoon experience at Ladera 22 years ago!! There are many different resort options in St. Lucia from Sandals to 5 star Viceroy accommodations but only one resort that uniquely captured our hearts forever and that is Ladera Resort!!! Do not miss out on the Ladera experience!!

Beauty and the Beast

The views from Ladera are amazing. The staff at Ladera are amazing. They catered to us in every way possible. I spent most days in the pool enjoying the views of the Pitons. HOWEVER, it was the nights. I've never been camping, not fond of bugs but I assumed I could manage it for a few nights... but they were front, right, and center; I underestimated what I was signing up for. I have more bug bites than I'm able to count... and this is with me killing the lights, being behind the netting, when not in the pool, and having the citronella candles lit. I wore bug spray, but the bugs prevailed. While I love Ladera, I'll likely never return (home now and still welting from some bites), but I'm glad that I got to experience its glory.

Room with a view and a pool!

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 3 weeks ago

And what a view ..situated high on the mountains with breathtaking view of both the Pitons, Ladera is a wonderful experience with friendly staff who go out of their way to make you comfortable. The open air rooms do tend to get hot in the afternoons but the private plunge pool is right there to cool you off. The food is nothing to write home about but we ate at other restaurants. Dinner has live music everyday. There is a nice trail right in the property . The only suggestion to the property would be to run more shuttles to the beach but other than that wouldn’t change a single thing. A five star experience through and through

My boyfriend and I spent a week at Ladera Resort in St. Lucia, West Indies, this past October. It is a beautiful resort with incredibly attentive and friendly staff. I would like to specifically mention Chef Orlando Satchell. He made an already special stay at Ladera even more wonderful. The room we stayed in was utterly incredible. The view of the ocean flanked by the Pitons, with the moon casting a path on the sea below was magic. It was an incredibly romantic, relaxing vacation which neither one of us wanted to end.
