We chose this hotel as a special place to celebrate our 50th anniversary. The hotel was festive and vibrant, the room was lovely and service was perfect. Our room was on the 7th floor overlooking Rice Park. We had drinks & appetizers at the bar and then dinner later in the restaurant. Very happy with our stay.

We had a wonderful stay at The St. Paul Hotel. The setting is beautiful! We had a great view of Rice Park and the Christmas lights there from our room which we requested when booking. We dined at The St. Paul Grille and had an incredibly kind server and wait staff. The room service staff and valets were quick and helpful. We truly had a luxurious stay and would recommend this hotel to all of our friends and family.

Great historical hotel and Great Service. Thanks for the nice visit. Was in St. Paul to see friends and family for Christmas and to take in some entertainment. The hotel is 👌.

Our experience at the St. Paul Hotel was wonderful, however... This hotel is awesome! It's old yes, but rooms were very clean, staff was friendly - especially valet services. The show we saw (It's a Wonderful Life) was wonderful! Almost every experience we had was top notch. The only "bad" experiences we had were the prices of various things: the worst was the bar prices in the lobby (and probably in the main bar, too). You are given this small menu to order drinks and some small food items from. There were 3 drinks featured on the front page, along with prices ($11 - $14). We drank some of these and the drinks were wonderful and at a good price. The ladies in our group each asked for a glass of red wine. Our server brought pinot noir and it was delicious. However... there was no price in the menu and when we received the bill - we found that EACH GLASS cost $24! Our bill for 2 of us cost more than our stay in the hotel for the night. Shame on us for not asking the price of a glass of red wine. Buyer beware!!

This is a historic, charming albeit outdated hotel in the heart of St. Paul. I was having a relatively good experience except tonight I called the front desk because we had been here three days and yet the hotel had not once replenished our room bottles, and I politely asked them to bring up two bottles of water. The hotel desk said they'd bring it up. At no point did the lady I spoke to allude to the cost of the bottles: I assumed they were complimentary given the omission but was nevertheless ready to pay a reasonable price. When the water arrived, the charge was $30. I kid you not, $30 for two 20oz bottles of water that each costs less than $3. I was and remain flabbergasted, except to top things off, I called the front desk and politely told them I had not opened the water and instead did not want to be charged for the bottles, though I kindly offered to pay for the room service charge and tax ($3). The lady at the front desk snarkily and abruptly said "ok", before proceeding to hang up on me. The charge was still there when I checked out. It is a shame that this hotel gouges and treats its guests this way.
