An Old St. Paul Boy Loves To Come Home

The St. Paul Hotel is a classic establishment with a tremendous staff, in the heart of a great city, with excellent dining in-house, and I've loved the place for fifty years.

St Paul Hotel: treat yourself to a classic golden age hotel experience

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 1 week ago

We've been to the St Paul a half dozen times for concerts (Excel Center [a 5 minute walk through a park]) and to visit my daughter. While this hotel is a bit spendy it's worth every penny! The staff are fantastic, restaurant, bar and lobby coffee bar are of high quality and convenient! The rooms, particularly the Landmark Suites are perfect for a few night stay and overlook a vibrant park scene. We love old "grand dame" hotels like the St Paul and the Pfister in Milwaukee. These places are well maintained or restored and reach back to a golden era of travel when staying at a hotel was a special event and travelers dressed up and felt special! Do not pass up the opportunity to experience the St Paul Hotel!

Downtown fun in St. Paul

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 1 week ago

We chose the St. Paul hotel because it was listed as an historic inn. The rooms were lovely, and the downtown location suited us well. The river is close by, so scenic walks in the park, or looking at downtown art and architecture were very accessible. The staff at the hotel were SO friendly and accommodating. We felt welcome the moment we arrived, From the valet parking guys, to the doorman to the servers in the bar and restaurant. There were things to see nearby, and the rest of the venues we wanted to see were close by. I’d recommend this hotel. I wish they had a history tour of it.

Upscale Hotel with Fine Dining Experience

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 2 weeks ago

We originally chose this hotel because of the location to the Minnesota Wild game we were attending and because of the price. I was looking for a more upscale hotel, and boy, did this hotel surprise me! The excellence of decor and professionalism was outstanding. The cleanliness, beauty of the hotel, and incredible restaurant and bar inside blew me away, I just wasn't expecting this because of other hotels I have stayed at. I will most certainly return and recommend this hotel to friends who need a great place to stay.
