Skamania Lodge is one of my favorite retreats. The Columbia River Gorge surroundings are breathtaking. The Lodge engaging, rooms comfortable, staff friendly. The pool and the indoor plus outdoor hot tubs are warm and bubbly. Over the years, this facility has never disappointed. But…my last 2 visits this summer, the food has been terrible…and pricey. Really sad since the food used to be outstanding. Soggy, grayish fish and chips, tasteless Cesar, and unblended Pina Colada which tasted like a diluted can of Dole pineapple juice. Really? I could share more…but suffice it to say, next time we will bring our own food. Not good…since Skamania Lodge without the food would have been a 5 star review.

It was a great experience, great customer service and room weas neat. From the reception welcoming, to the staff serving lunch during conferences to helping find areas and get guide to where everything was located was 10/10.

The view is spectacular. Staff is exceptional. The nearby communities are cute and friendly. The mountain roads provide a lot of great photo spots.

It was a wonderful stay(granping), an unprecedented experience, blending in with nature. We also enjoyed a relaxing soak in the deep bath. However, I remember that at night, when we were trying to sleep, there was a train passing nearby, and the sound of it echoing about every hour. This caused our bodies to flinch, making it difficult to fall asleep. That's the only thing I regret.

Skamania Lodge is in a beautiful location, but noise was a serious issue during our stay. Our room was next to a suite with a loud party that continued late into the night. Despite calling the front desk multiple times, nothing was resolved. We ended up leaving at 10:30 p.m. and driving home. They did issue a refund, which we appreciate, but the experience was upsetting and disappointing. Tip for future guests: Ask for a room without an adjoining door and not next to a suite or event space. If there’s a wedding on site, be prepared for noise. This is not the place for a quiet, relaxing stay if events are happening.
