The Lodge at Spruce Peak

This was one of the best family vacations we have taken. We stayed in a two bedroom ridgeline suite and had plenty of room for our family of 5. Rooms were clean and well kept. Daily housekeeping service was nice and provided fresh towels, extra blankets, etc. We brought in some groceries so we could make breakfast in the room and have snacks available during the day. Alpine Hall and Pico Taco were great dinner options. The ski valet was a nice perk because every morning our snowboards were placed on the racks and we could put them back any time we needed a break during the day. The lobby area is beautiful and relaxing to rest and read a book. Two large fireplaces and one afternoon there was even someone playing piano. A small bar opens for a few hours in the late afternoon/evening too.

A great ski in/out hotel, with suites that have a full kitchen & laundry equipment. Onsite restaurant's & bars, although they do close early & have limited food options & a grocery shop to purchase food to prepare/cook if you have a suite with a kitchen. But limited options, so bring your groceries. Great & convenient car (at a daily cost) & ski valets. Close enough to town to eat out & get groceries though. Rooms are a good size & clean. The hotel rooms are a bit outdated, but the hotel has a great atmosphere & onsite ski hire shop (at an extra cost than 5 minutes down the road though) as well as retail shops & an ice skating ring with skate also available to hire & indoor rock climbing. Also has a heated pool & 2 spas as well as a gym. Overall a nice country hotel in a great position for convenient skiing options without having to drive to the mountain.

Beautiful accommodations and great skiing! The Rooms were clean and spacious. The lodge lounging area had plenty of room and a large fireplace. Staff were friendly and responsive. Gym was well equipped. Hot tub and pool area were a big perk. Dining was decent.

If planning a ski vacation to Stowe this is the place to stay. The proximity to the mountain and accessibly to the Gondola was awesome. Allowed you to sleep in a little later and still make first tracks. The staff very helpful and accommodating and the space was well maintained. Only negative a little on the high side for people traveling with family.

We love staying at the Lodge at Spruce Peak as a once a year treat. It is beautifully done and the service is first rate. The valets are terrific—they unload your car and your skis show up at the ski valet and bags in the room. On leaving, skis show up in the car. Our one big gripe this year is liquor sticker shock and plastic cup annoyance. Prices are Manhattan prices and inconsistent. A him martini was $21.50 in the restaurant one night and $23.50 at the bar the next night—all before tax. A Tito’s martini was $27+ from the bar after tax and before tip. Even more annoying, if you order a cocktail at the bar in the beautiful Lounge with real fireplaces, it is served in a small plastic wine glass—a $25 martini served in a plastic cup? Seriously? If you order from a regular bar and they sense you are going to the lobby lounge, plastic cup. They say it is because their bar ware disappears to the lobby lounge. Buy more. They say it can break in the lobby lounge. Get some nice acrylic real glassware. Overpriced with a cheap bar mentality. Spruce Peak can do better.
