Hilton Sydney

Very pleasant stay with family visiting for the Sydney marathon. Bedroom was clean and spacious, food delicious and for the most part staff polite and attentive. Hotel is centrally located with easy access to Sydney’s landmarks. The only small issue encountered was with a staff member working in the marble bar when we visited during the day looking for food options, we were told to “leave immediately” as our 10 year old son was in attendance. We understand subsequently that local policy may apply in this regard, however the way the staff member spoke to us was quite abrupt and rude and definitely could have been handled in a more appropriate manner. Other than that we thoroughly enjoyed our stay. Thank you Hilton Sydney.

Organised a hotel reservation through an OTA for my boss and had to add some things to the reservation. Bi from Communications/Reservations was amazing at helping me add amenities and clearly communicated what opportunities were available to make sure the stay was the best it could be. Would recommend calling to speak to Bi if you need assistance at all - she was amazing.

Stayed in the Hilton with 200/300 guests for the marathon. Was part of a marathon company. The Hilton really looked after us for the 9 nights, staff excellent and so friendly, from check in to customer service at breakfast, faultless. Special thanks to hagi in reception desk and Jeffrey in breakfast and the cafe. Just two of the excellent crew. Many thanks we are back again next year.

A business hotel - very efficient check in and helpful concierge who helped us with directions when we asked. Conveniently located right next to QVB tram station which takes you to circular quay (for Sydney opera house). You can also get the t8 train from town hall to the airport (a 5 min walk). We didn’t have breakfast as we were up and about early. Unusually, we didn’t use the pool, but the room was really nice - comfy bed, decent sleep and good amenities- milk, tea/coffee, shower gel etc. There is a Marble bar which we went to one night where they had live music, and we got their spring rolls, which were tasty. We never heard the bar in the hotel so shouldn’t disturb sleep. It was art deco in style and worth popping in for a drink. Would definitely recommend the hotel to stay, especially based on location.

This is pretty much our go to stay in Sydbey as the location is just perfect for what we tend to do in town - opposite the Queen Victoria Building, a block from Town Hall train station, a block from Westfield and lots of shops, close to Hyde Park and the art gallery about 10 minutes walk away. It's a solid hotel and certainly popular, and should have everything you need for a good stay. We stayed in a King corner room, which had great views of the QVB and everything we needed really. Some things do need updating though - the bed sunk a bit on the left side, the aircon was tricky to control and the shower made a loud noise when switching shower heads. Not the end of the world but we've seen the Hilton at its peak and this sadly wasn't it but it was fine. Staff were super helpful across the board. Special shout out to the middle-aged cleaning lady who, when asked if we could have more sugar for the room as making two coffees cleaned us out, generally decked us out with a handful of coffee abd sugar sachets. Much appreciated. Breakfast was included in our rate, and historically the Hilton breakfast had always been a highlight. Don't get me wrong, it was still good but they made a few changes since our last stay that may make things more efficient for the hospitality staff but not so sure they improve the customer experience. For example, the egg station is now well removed from other hot food options do you may get sausages and hash browns in one spot, but if you want to add an omelet you have to go to the other side of the dining room. Similar with coffee, staff used to bring standard coggrr to your table in the past, now it is tucked away in a corner to make your own coffee. Not a big deal of course as long as you know where to look. Interestingly there seemed to be no coffee spoons about except if you ordered a specialty coffee (not included in the buffet). While the staff were all friendly, in the last 30 minutes of breakfast, some of them were super focused on making sure things ran on time, meaning you may feel a bit rushed at times. There also seemed to be some work being done on the hotel lifts while we were there. Usually there are 6 lifts but at times only one or two seemed to be working and at times there was quite a wait for the lift. Again, these weren't a massive deal, just some small imperfections that could have turned this from a good stay into a great one.
