Reviews for InterContinental Sydney, an IHG Hotel

Good experience in Sydney

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 20 hours ago

I am very impressed with my stay at this hotel. There may have been recent issues with room service, but the reception staff Ms. Ella and Mr. Armani were very helpful, attentive, and provided excellent service. I recommended that if you come to Sydney, you should stay here. Thank you and appreciated.

Very nice stay

Absolutely great location! The hotel itself is all you expect. Friendly and efficient checkin staff. Limited dining options in the hotel itself but lots nearby. Comfortable room with great views. Not so much TV selection. Reasonably comfortable bed. Roomy bath area. Fair prices.

Luxury rooms at excellent rates.

I will definitely stay here again. Location, location, location. Check-in was bumpy as the botanical garden view room we reserved was not saved for us. We were given a room facing an office building for one night and a rebate. The next day, not only were we helped in moving to the new room, but we were given a top floor/corner room with breathtaking views of the gardens and harbour. It was worth the wait and we used the rebate to have nightcaps at the bar during our stay. The rooms are updated, very comfortable, impeccably clean, and stocked with Byredo products, a coffee capsule machine, and a bluetooth speaker we enjoyed using. Also, breakfast is as excellent as many reviewers say. I'd love to see them change up the options maybe from day to day to offer more variety. Highly recommend as I don't think you can beat the value for your money.

Superb hotel with breathtaking views of the Opera House and Harbour Bridge

Modern, upmarket hotel with unbelievable views of the Harbour Bridge, the Sydney Opera House, and the Botanic Gardens. A great location, only 3 minutes walk from Circular Quay, and 10 minutes walk to The Rocks. You’ve got to try the Aster bar, a rooftop bar with terrace that has the most amazing views across Sydney. You’ll probably need to make a reservation, particularly if not in one of the Club access rooms. A beautiful building, recently redeveloped, we upgraded to a Club Intercontinental room, with access to the club lounge. The 26th floor room was spacious, with a panoramic view of the Botanic Gardens, the Naval Dockyards and beyond towards Bondi. The room was great, excellent bathroom, comfortable bed and immaculately clean. Room had a great TV and a good quality Bluetooth speaker. We got great value from the Club Intercontinental upgrade. Breakfast, afternoon tea and evening cocktails and canapés were included. Breakfast was the Aster rooftop bar, great food – the Eggs Benedict were just cooked to perfection – paired with what must be one of the best views of the Sydney skyline, overlooking the opera house and harbour bridge views. I want to make a particular note about the staff: we were looked after with care, dedication, professionalism and humour. We were made to feel like honoured guests, absolutely wonderful. Requests for more coat hangers and a slight issue with the bathroom were dealt with immediately. Things to note: A. The Aster bar might need a reservation, and there was a minimum charge of $40 per person for drinks, at peak times at least. But worth the price for the views alone.

Impeccable service. The hotel was fully booked and yet the service was prompt and efficient. Lovely room overlooking the gardens. Best buffet breakfast with a vast array of choice. Perfect location to Circular Quay and the Rocks. Highly recommended.
