Excellent location near Circular Quay. Not cheap but on par for an Intercontinental. Friends recommended it and that was one reason for selecting it. Unfortunately, it was a very crowded weekend. I specifically asked for a quiet room away from elevators but our room was right next to the elevator and I was told there was no other choice. Fortunately the room was pretty quiet. Good breakfast buffet. Housekeeping a little iffy - did not replace toilet paper when it was clear we were down to less than 1 roll. Generally, I had to leave a note and be very specific when we needed supplies refreshed. The only clock was an analog clock that was difficult to see at night (and that needed a new battery - we had to ask twice for that). In all, I would stay there again due to location and level of luxury

One night stay with a friend. I booked a room with a view so she’d have that fabulous Sydney experience and i always like intercontinentals. The good… great location, super comfortable beds, lovely welcome anzac biscuits and rosemary (for remembrance) as we stayed on Anzac Day, amazing lounge with drinks, fruit and snacks to wait in if your room isn’t ready- 31st floor, views to die for all the way to The Gap, Watsons Bay, and the best of all we got upgraded to a suite as i am a member. The not so good was a very busy check in, our room wasn’t ready (we used the lounge then went to our theatre matinee but when we returned at 3 to check in the staff were surprised that we hadn’t checked in already. I had a whats app message welcoming me but no message to say our room was ready 😢 A real shame as we could have done with it since all the shops were shut! We went out for dinner and didn’t have breakfast- got pastries and coffee from Lune and soaked in that view instead.. I’ll definitely come back but hope they can fix the notification system.

Loved arriving at this hotel, Monika on reception was just wonderful. On opening our harbour bridge view room, the curtains opened and the view revealed itself, what a classy touch. The room was gorgeous, the bed divine. The bathroom wonderful. However, I’m not sure the designers had thought of the guest experience. The sofa faced into the room and not facing the view, as did the bed. The mini bar and food took up so much room that it was hard to make a coffee or cup of tea. There was something in every drawer, from hairdryers, to laundry bags to shoe care etc. making it hard to put our clothes away. We had to move everything first. Breakfast was also very poorly laid out and designed. Very hard to walk past the hot food area without people stepping back with hot items. Hot drinks take forever to come to the table. There’s not an egg station so these also take a while to come to the table and then you have to get items to go with the eggs back at the buffet. Difficult to get to the Breakfast Reception entrance when meetings are going on in the adjacent rooms, corridors are blocked. BUT, the food quality at breakfast is amazing. Just some aspects of the guest experience are poorly designed and for AUD55 we expected more. Fantastic location, just minutes from Circular Quay and a short walk to Darling Habour.
