Reviews for Park Hyatt Sydney

Unique view and the most comfy bed ever

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 3 days ago

The staff was super friendly and made feel very welcomed. Also the bed was the most comfortable I've ever slept in. The room service was quick and the view from my room was spectacularly facing the opera house...even out of the bath tub :)

Great experience at the Park Hyatt Sydney

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 1 week ago

We stayed at the Park Hyatt Sydney for five nights in late February 2024 and were impressed with not only the hotel itself and its wonderful, scenic location near the historic "The Rocks" area and across a small bay the Sydney Opera House, but especially with the staff. A special "shout out" for the wonderful young woman who checked us in and then escorted us to our room, while also providing us with great information on how our daughter could safely travel to the Taylor Swift concert that evening. Kudos!!

Decent property, terrible service, worse F&B. Lacking basic hospitality.

The physical property is nice. It's not quite up to the quality of a Park Hyatt based on my experience, but the location is nice with good views of the harbor (if you get a good room). That's the positive. First, the food & beverage is beyond anything I've experienced at any four or five start hotel. The menu is bizarre. The only reasonably healthy item I could find on the dinner menu was a club sandwich (can you believe that, in a five star hotel?!). It was dripping with mayonnaise and had cheap, American cheese on it. Yuck. Horrendous. The next night we ordered salads for room service, again beyond gross (two were dripping with sauce, and one was unrecognizable in terms of the ingredients). I will say our experience overall with the F&B was incredibly disappointing. In addition, the level of service in this property is really disappointing, some of the worst I've experienced in any stay I've had around the world. This is a very policy driven hotel, and management values policy above service. We experienced this on multiple occasions in our three days there. One particular incident was when we planned our evening around using the hot tub on the roof. We canceled dinner plans and brought in food. When we went to the hot tub with our food - family in robes and ready for a fun evening, the hot tub was closed. Apparently they closed it at 5:45pm that evening because it closes when the sun sets. I've never been to a hotel in the WORLD that closes the hot tub when the sun sets. Absurd. I spoke with the person at the front desk who said she could not override policy of the hotel. I then spoke with the manager who was incredibly rude and not understanding. He had no reasonable reason why the hot tub couldn't stay open until a reasonable hour (other than 'you might slip and fall when it's dark' even though the area is well lit). He then brought two members of security with him to try to explain the unexplainable. This actually made me feel uncomfortable and slightly unsafe. They argued that the policy was in 'a contract' I signed, but then could not find any language. They pointed to a small QR code on a marketing flyer in the room. They also pointed to a small card that sat behind the desk to notify guests at check in. There were multiple families who came up to the pool while my family waited at the elevator in their robes, so clearly they had not told anyone. All of these families were highly disappointed. I asked the manager on duty to reach out to the GM, whom he said - 30 mins later - was not available. He was not available to help resolve a very basic issue around guests getting into a hot tub? For the thousands of dollars we spent over three nights, all we wanted to do was to end our evening with a dip in the hot tub while we ate our dinner. Simple request. When I suggested the manager was not empowered to fix an issue for a guest, he said 'I will not break a hotel policy for you.' He was quite serious. Managing policy was so much more important to him than taking care of a guest. And FWIW worth the GM never called me after this experience. He's too busy for guests apparently; can't be bothered. Honestly, we weren't impressed with our stay before the F&B and the service issues. But after this, we left with a bad taste in our mouths. In the future, we'd stay at the Four Seasons which is a better property and has much better service and food.

Spectacular Park Hyatt

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 2 weeks ago

This hotel is in the supreme location to enjoy all that Sydney has to offer. Outstanding view of the harbour. Very comfortable sleeping arrangement. We enjoyed such a relaxing weekend. No need to rush down for breakfast as it's available until 10.30. So handy to The Rocks for any special shopping and for souvenirs. And not to mention the Harbour Bridge.

Amazing hotel

The property was beautiful with an awesome view of the opera house and Harbor Bridge. It was well situated close to many restaurants and local pubs. The staff was phenomenal and the breakfast is not to be missed.
