Rising over Darling Harbour, W Sydney instantly captures the eye with the undulating lines of its futuristic exterior and striking interiors that pay homage to the hotel’s NSW locale. Daring and original, a sleek retreat where bold design meets the larrikin spirit, seamlessly melding Sydney and Australia’s cultural touchstones to create an all-encompassing dining and social destination. The Darling Harbour hotel transforms as day turns to night, from the evocative future-noir allure of the Living Room bar and kinetic energy of BTWN restaurant to AWAY Spa, a refreshing sanctuary amid its concrete city surrounds, and the panoramic harbor views from WET Deck and double story rooftop bar, 29/30. Within each of W Sydney’s guest rooms, suites, and studios, marine chic design interiors channel the hotel’s harbourside location and Sydney’s stunning coastlines. W Sydney is ahead of the curve, making room for renegades to eat, drink, play, and stay in inimitable style.

W Sydney – Family Stay (Long Weekend, Mid-June) • Hotel is quite new and very conveniently located in the heart of Darling Harbour. • Stunning, modern foyer and main entrance. • Check-in was smooth and friendly. Challenges: • Hotel was extremely crowded all weekend. • Communal areas were consistently overpacked. • Staff were working hard but clearly overwhelmed and exhausted. • Major issue: Breakfast wait time of at least 45 minutes. • No drinks or snacks were offered during the wait; disappointing, especially when compared to similar busy situations we’ve experienced at other W and Marriott properties across other countries, which have been handled far better. • 2-bedroom apartment was fitted with fairly ordinary furniture and joinery; does not justify the premium price, especially against local 5-star competitors. In summary; This would have been a 3-star review based on the overall experience, but we’re giving an extra star purely for the floor staff who worked incredibly hard under pressure. Unfortunately, we are not looking forward to returning unless the hotel undergoes a major review to address these capacity and service issues.

The 90 minute de-stress massage was incredible - the W must get the best of the best therapists as each time I have been they are next level. Thank you Justine for the amazing experience.

Location was perfect for my the trade fair I attended. Room was stunning and quiet. Had dinner and breakfast in the restaurant and it was lovely and the staff were exceptional.

Disappointed by the room. Had requested a preference. Early check in was a plus and the burger was fantastic! If I had the room I wanted I would stay more often. Staff were lovely and welcoming. Housekeeping fantastic!

I went to Away Spa with my husband on our anniversary. The staff who welcomed us were very nice, but the floor of the steam sauna was slippery and had a distinct mouldy smell, so we couldn't stay inside for more than five minutes. The floor was clearly slippery due to dirt. The couple's massage we received afterwards was also the worst I've ever had. I couldn't feel the massage at all, and it felt like the masseuse was just rubbing her arms against me. We paid an extra fee to book a couple's room, but there was no explanation about the bathtub inside, so we couldn't use it. When I searched for reviews of Away Spa, I only found reviews of W Hotel, so I assumed that Away Spa had poor reviews.I should have checked more.
