Palais de Chine

Palais De Chine is an quirky oasis within the within bustling Taipei super convenient near Taipei Main Station. Once you work out the exits, it’s a gateway to almost anywhere in Taiwan. The lobby and reception are offer a mysterious entry to this fun property. The rooms are quite large and well appointed. Spotless and serviced promptly. Beds very comfortable and good soundproofing. The bathrooms seem however to be trending towards that lack of privacy aspect that seems to be prevalent nowadays. Luckily there is a curtain that shields the area….but god I miss a door!!!!!! We did have breakfast at the buffet one morning (we do usually go local) and the spread is comprehensive. Significantly more Asian focused but offers a very wide variety of dishes. A quiet glass of wine in the lounge one night offered excellent service. My son used the fitness centre each day and cardio is well catered for (along with a couple of weird machines!) however the weight and resistance equipment was more limited. This hotel offers personality, a brilliant location and very well appointed amenities. Highly recommended!

We stayed in a suite for 6 nights. Room was very nice. Service was uniformly excellent. Very convenient location for all sights. Special kudos for staff at the 17th floor lounge (private) who were very accommodating. Bravo Nelson Chang!

This was a great hotel! Our room felt very luxurious. I wanted to give a shout-out to John Lee who really came through with my multiple requests for help! He helped me find a pedicure nearby and other misc needs. But the best thing he did was help me figure out where to drop off our rental car since Hertz insisted I take care of that upon arrival. He made several phone calls and arranged a ride from Hertz to the hotel, all in Chinese, of course. :) He was very attentive and kind.

Right next to the main station, easy to find if you look properly, once inside you'll enter a different atmosphere, almost like a sophisticated underground cave, but still next to a commercial mall for lights addicted. Nice touch to have a lounge bar with complementary snacks and if you stay in a bigger room, a surprisingly tasty dinner is included as well. A bit of a letdown is the breakfast, nothing really stands out for a 5 stars buffet, but definitely acceptable. if you're interested in freemasonry symbolism, its definitely your Mecca.

Excellent Hotel, we stayed 7 nights. It has a very strategic location as it near Train Station and several shopping malls. Services are also very good; room is quite spacious and clean. Breakfast and dinner also have great options Will definitely stay there again when visiting Taipei
