W Taipei

My family and I stayed at this property for a couple of nights. Overall, our stay was good. Unfortunately, the taps are not user friendly. Difficult to turn off. There are malls near the hotel and it is walking distance (10 mins) to Taipei 101. Hotel is clean and conveniently located. There are good breakfast shops within walking distance too (6 min).

The arrangment of the room is interesting and the atmos[here was amazing.

The W hotel in Taipei is within easy walking distance to several world class malls, many of the city’s sites, too many restaurants to count, and a metro stop. Those factors alone would be enough to stay at the W. But it is the comfort of the W that puts it ahead of the rest. The rooms are good sized and very well laid out. There are many extra touches throughout such as Bose speakers and martini shakers. The beds are very comfortable. The bathroom is spacious. The toilet controls rival NASA’s control room. We were on an upper floor and had a lovely view of the large relaxing pool. We tried two of the restaurants. The breakfast buffet had many options. None were spectacular but everything was very tasty and well prepared. The staff during peak hours gets very busy and it is difficult to get a refill of coffee. We also tried the woobar. At times there is a DJ and the area gets very loud. The food is a nice mix. After seeing several patrons order the high tea we wished we had done the same. It looked delicious. This was our first time staying at a W , it will not be the last. The W is a gem in Taipei.

Aside from the location, I don't believe this property offers good value for the money. The rate is not competitive even with the corporate rate, and the staff service does not match the high rate. Additionally, suite upgrade rewards are not available here—as always. And despite being an Ambassador member, I did not receive any benefits at this property.

A hotel of a lot of energy. Like the design and the colour the hotel has used. The food is great with a lot of varieties. Like the boss sound system in the room. The hotel has a great location and is the city hall station of the blue line MRT is just around the corner, together with a few grand shopping malls.
