We came to Tampa for a business networking event and experienced the rooftop on both Friday and Saturday. Saturday with DJ Erock was on another level. His music transformed the entire vibe and kept the energy going all night. The rooftop, staff, and service were amazing, but DJ Erock made the experience unforgettable. Marriott should book him for Friday nights too! we’d be back for that. Thank you for a great time JW Marriott & Dj Erock 💥

I had a very disappointing experience with the valet service at the JW Marriott. When I arrived, the valet attempted to process my debit card and claimed it wasn’t working. I was then asked to provide a different payment method, so I used a credit card that I rarely ever use. The very next day, I discovered multiple unauthorized charges around the Tampa area totaling approximately $1,800 before I even woke up. Since this card is rarely used anywhere else, the timing is extremely concerning. To make matters worse, I was told by the restaurant staff that valet parking would be complimentary if I dined at the restaurant. We had our valet ticket validated at the restaurant and were specifically told parking would be free. However, when leaving, the valet attendant insisted it was not complimentary despite the validation. Between the confusion regarding valet validation and the unauthorized charges that appeared immediately after my visit, this experience left me feeling frustrated and concerned. I strongly encourage management to investigate their valet operations and payment handling procedures to protect future guests. I cannot recommend the valet service based on my experience.

I travel a lot--never for work--but my kids and I tagged along while my husband had a work conference. This is a very "adult" hotel in terms of vibes, but my kids and I LOVED it. It might be one of my top 5 hotels ever for the lounge and pool experience. We paid extra for the lounge and for $80/day, it was by far the best money spent all trip! Breakfast was amazing, and they even had cookies/sweets out in the afternoon before appetizers. It was great just to have soda/water options. The design of this hotel is great. Everything is vertical, so just take the elevator wherever you want to go and it's not a far walk. Our room was lovely, just a basic double. Pool- it's heated! I didn't expect this in Florida but the first day we were there it was super windy (almost cold) the pool was actually warm. Everything was clean and the staff was wonderful. There were just a handful of other children but we actually loved that because my elementary/middle school-aged kids got the pool to themselves! It was quiet and peaceful, although there were several conferences going on--not too noisy, and everyone was respectful. My husband and I also visited the rooftop bar one night and it was lovely. It's nicer, so not shorts/t-shirt. Would ABSOLUTELY return! We normally stay at H&att properties with points. We stayed here 2 nights then at a H&att property after the conference to save money and use points, but if I wanted to hang at the hotel more, we definitely would have booked this place for longer!! ***downside- price of parking, but we found a garage nearby that was much cheaper. ***downside- lounge only open Sunday afternoon, I think, to Friday morning. We stayed during the week but on a weekend that would be a huge bummer!

I don't like to write negative reviews but there seems to be a complete disconnect between the management and the staff in the hospitality areas. The hotel itself is generic and dull. The rooms are clean and adequate but lacking in any flair or quality. It's acceptable for one night or two of a business trip but certainly not a destination for anything more. The quality of the linens and towels is sub par. However the standard of service and food in the restaurants both in this location and the Marriott across the road is so poor that it beggars belief. The staff seem to think that they are better than their customers and are incapable of managing any inquiries in a reasonable, polite manner . I would not recommend any of the restaurants.

As a Titanium/Platinum Elite member, I understand and respect that policies and benefits may vary by property. However, my recent experience was disappointing due to a communication breakdown regarding an open cabana usage without a reserve sign. Prior to using the cabana while waiting for our ordered food and drinks, I specifically asked to speak to management if we needed to move and was given approval. Unfortunately, while using the cabana for an hour just to eat lunch, pool staff later contacted management and I felt as though I was being questioned or accused of using the space improperly despite already obtaining authorization. What made this experience frustrating was not the policy itself, but the lack of internal communication and consistency between staff and management. As both a loyal guest and someone familiar with hospitality standards, clear communication and guest handling make a significant difference. I do want to recognize the staff members who attempted to assist, but I hope management can improve internal communication to avoid placing guests in uncomfortable situations after approval has already been provided.
