Everything works just right.

If service is important - you’ll have to work to find a more committed staff. The grounds and hotel are fantastic and the food delicious. You won’t be disappointed.

Beautiful place to stay

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 4 weeks ago

This place is beautiful! The property is gorgeous; serene and inviting. The room we had was large, had a great jet tub, plenty of storage etc. Angelica(reception/front desk manager)was so nice and we appreciated her kindness and knowledge. The tea and coffee in the morning was great, but wish they had it through the day. They do have water available which is great! There is nowhere on site to get anything between breakfast and when the restaurant opens at 5. Not a big deal, but would have been helpful. We had to call for a couple of small things during our stay and they were so quick to respond, it was great. There is a shuttle but we did not use it. The spa is lovely. We had a couples massage and it was very relaxing. Definitely loved it!

Only recommend if you have kids

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 4 weeks ago

This review is so sad for me to write!!! I never leave bad reviews. I have stayed at El Monte Sangrado a few times throughout the years. My husband and I stayed hoping for a relaxing getaway for our 5 year anniversary. The greenhouse saltwater pool is amazing… and listed under “wellness” and maybe even part of the spa, but if you are looking to relax there you somehow have to time it to go when there are no kids. I don’t understand why at a place with a resort fee and such a tranquil space they allow kids in that area…. multiple times throughout our stay our relaxation was interrupted by kids jumping into the pool and splashing us, my book got so wet I have to replace it. It wasn’t relaxing at all. Kids even in the hot tub, with goggles, it just wasn’t a “spa” or “wellness” feel. I had a really hard time relaxing there during the times with kids in the area. It’s great if you have kids, not so much if you’re looking to relax. We were also really excited to get room service for breakfast one morning. We weren’t able to order it on the phone because the phone didn’t work, which was fine. But when it was delivered my husbands $36 eggs Benedict consisted of one Benedict that got shuffled about with the sauce in a separate container that was cold. The food was in cardboard to go boxes, with plastic cutlery, not on plates… which would be fine but to charge $36 for one egg Benedict plus a 23% service fee plus $3 delivery fee (and none of that includes gratuity) just to get your food delivered shuffled up, cold, in a to go container was definitely not worth it. We were thinking it would at least come on plates with actual silverware with those extra charges. Super disappointed but we had fun together and will pick someone else to celebrate next year .

We loved El Monte!

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 1 month ago

First time staying at El Monte and really enjoyed our stay. We chose it over an Airbnb and spent less staying at El Monte which included dining and a spa treatment. The staff were friendly and the food in the restaurant was excellent. The bartenders were especially nice and the drinks were incredible. Overall, it made our stay in Taos relaxing and memorable!

Amazing and relaxing stay!

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 2 months ago

We absolutely loved our stay here! The resort was perfect for a relaxing weekend with thoughtful touches - the lavender for to put inside the pillows and the bath salts for the soaking tub in the room were a luxurious touch at check in. The salt water pool inside the greenhouse was so fun and grounding, and the food was incredible. I also went to the spa and had the best facial of my life with Cierra! The spa itself is so relaxing with so much greenery and little lounge areas and water features. It was wonderful to sit after my service with a hot tea and just enjoy the greenhouse vibe. Cierra was incredibly knowledgeable throughout my service - it was the perfect blend of relaxing and helpful. She provided recommendations on products for some of my specific concerns as well so it was nice to take a piece of the exceptional service home with me. I highly recommend her and already can’t wait to visit again just for the spa experience with Cierra! If you’re looking for a relaxing resort style stay in Taos, this is definitely it.

The rooms were beautiful, the service fantastic and the meeting facilities were more than adequate - they were great! We were celebrating our 10th year in business and really wanted to reflect the charm of our area and your resort fulfilled all of our expectations!

El Monte Sagrado is a wonderful resort, beautiful both inside and out. My husband and I had our wedding here, and I would not have wanted it at any other place. The property has amazing rooms, uniquely themed and luxurious... The staff treated us like our wedding was as special to them as it was to us. Thank you, El Monte Sagrado, for making our wedding the most special day of our lives.
