I was curious what to expect when staying at the Four Seasons Otemachi over Christmas. On the one hand, the hotel has 3 Keys from Michelin and the rooms looked beautiful online. However, it's also a decently large hotel as far as Four Seasons and luxury properties go, and a city hotel at that (which can sometimes fall short in service versus resort properties). Our 6 night stay confirmed why they have 3 Keys and this is now one of the best Four Seasons properties in my experience in terms of service and hospitality. First off, this property has one of the best housekeeping teams at any Four Seasons I've stayed at. They should honestly do training rotations here for what the brand standard should be. Our timing preferences for housekeeping and turn down were noted at check in but also continuously updated as our schedules changed. It felt seamless and anticipated rather than something we had to put thought into ourselves. Their attention to detail was also top notch and I loved the little gifts they provided throughout our stay. They also had some of the nicest hotel pajamas in the rooms. The rooms themselves are gorgeous and thoughtfully designed. We had an amazing view of the Imperial Palace and, on a clear day, Mount Fuji. I was also so impressed at how intimate the hotel felt despite how many rooms they have. Elevator banks were never super busy, hallways were quiet, and there were always plenty of staff around to help even though the occupancy rate was pretty high. You would never know it was a large hotel based on the service level and attention to detail they maintained. The hotel bar, Virtu, was excellent with a top notch staff and great cocktails and the breakfast spread was always a treat. Finally, we found the location to be convenient in terms of proximity to train lines and access to many different neighborhoods, even though there's not much of interest in the direct area aside from the Imperial Palace. There are really only a couple areas where I have any feedback. First, the gym is nice looking but not the most functional. The weightlifting area only has one adjustable bench and gets quite cramped if people are using dumbbells, the Smith machine, and the cable machine (3 people is probably the max in that area). While there's a lot of equipment for legs, there are no chest machines (just dumbbells and the smith machine). Overall it feels more suited to cardio and yoga than weightlifting. Second (and this is more about Japan than this property), you should probably adjust your expectations in terms of what the concierge team can accomplish. There are a lot of high demand restaurants in Japan that do not work with hotel concierges and only allow diners to book directly. In some places, a concierge may ignore this or make an exception to try to secure a booking for guests but that is really antithetical to Japanese culture and protocol. We found this challenge with all of the properties we stayed at across Japan though so I don't fault this team. They were responsive and helpful for the things they could help with.

Beautifully decorated hotel in tip top condition. Housekeeping was immaculate. Breakfast buffet selection was huge and top quality. Definitely not to miss. Pizza at the Italian restaurant was also excellent. Can even see Mount Fuji on a clear day from the breakfast restaurant and the lobby. Service by every staff member is top notch. Absolutely perfectly run hotel!

Wow! Excellent in every aspect. The staff was exceptional. The hotel was beautiful. Rooms were large with phenomenal views. It’s centrally located next to a metro and taxis in front at every second. It’s not in Ginza where you can walk out your hotel and be around shops and restaurants but besides that it’s absolutely perfect. Tiffany and Alvin the GM were incredibly hospitable and helpful with every detail.

This is a fabulous, fabulous hotel. The location is great. It is so easy to get to everything from here. We were able to walk places, easily catch ubers/taxis and take the subway from the hotel. The staff was great, the rooms were always serviced while we were out. The mattresses, linens, bath towels and toiletries were all the wonderful Four Seasons staples. The breakfast was super fast (we were always in a hurry) and great. We loved the view from our room and the setup was very nice. We had three people in a room and we all fit nicely. The price was also great for the value. I would highly highly recommend this hotel to anyone traveling to Tokyo and I hope I will be able to return someday.

We loved this Four Seasons, and the service was great! The lobby and fact that it's pn the 39th floor make it really incredible! I can also see why it would be an excellent hotel for business travelers, and the only thing I will say is that the location is a little less convenient than some of the other hotels. For example, the Peninsula and Edition are slightly better locations in my opinion.
