Cockroach at Afternoon Tea — My Grand Hyatt Tokyo Category-8 Letdown (July 2025 Stay & Billing Saga)
Grand Hyatt Tokyo is visually stunning, and the Concierge and Housekeeping teams were genuinely kind and hospitable. Unfortunately, the experience fell well short of Category 8, five-star standards. During afternoon tea, while I was completing check-in at the Concierge Lounge, a live cockroach ran across the lounge dining-room floor, raising immediate concerns about hygiene and food safety. The duty manager apologized and promised a ¥20,000 IN-ROOM dining credit as service recovery, yet that credit never appeared on my folio despite multiple follow-ups. Compounding matters, I was billed ¥2,150 for a replacement French-toast order after the first serving arrived under-cooked, ¥8,285 for other in-room dining, and minibar fees that appear inflated beyond my actual consumption of a candy bar and mixed nuts ONLY. These overlapping lapses—pest control, culinary execution, service-recovery follow-through, and billing accuracy—must be addressed before the hotel can credibly deliver the premium experience its category and pricing promise.

Top Notch Stay in Roppongi
One of the best hotels we have ever stayed at. The club lounge was excellent and enjoyed by our 2 kids. The staff were all great and attentive to our needs. Yushen at the Front Bell Desk was the best! Also if you like super car and luxury car spotting like my son and I you are in the right spot.

One Stop place to eat, drink, and be merry!
It was great not having to leave the hotel area to enjoy fine food, drinks, and entertainment. Shopping and walking the connected properties also kept us close to "home". Service was excellent all around. The spa a super bonus!

Amazing stay at Grand Hyatt Tokyo
The Grand Hyatt Tokyo is an amazing hotel and we thoroughly enjoyed our time here. As a Globalist we used a Suite upgrade and was treated to an amazing room where we could rest, unwind and have dinner when we wanted to eat in. We were also given a bottle of wine and cherries in the room. WOW!!! The rollaway bed was there at check in and we slept wonderfully. The location is a 6 minute walk to the metro and there are a lot of great shops in the area. There is also a coin laundromat that is within a 10 minute walk. There were also so many options at breakfast that it took 4 days before we could experience all the stations. We would definitely stay here again.

Fantastic stay in grand Hyatt Tokyo
Everything was excellent. The staff is 100% customer oriented. We had an issue with a suitcase that we bought the previous day and Mr. Fumiya Nihei was outstanding in helping us. Great experience!!!
