A fitting flagship, Janu Tokyo is connected to the vibrant heart of the Azabudai Hills community – a city within a city, teeming with nature, culture, and art. Thirty years in-the-making, this new dynamic neighborhood thrives in perfect synergy with the values of Janu, seeking to nurture purposeful connection and bring people together. The only hotel within the development, Janu Tokyo introduces 122 light-filled rooms and suites, setting a new benchmark for standards of space, service and experience alike across its eight dining venues and paramount 4,000 sqm wellness center – one of the city’s largest. Through its appreciation of cuisine, art and design, Janu Tokyo will celebrate the city’s rich, cultural fabric, delivering its spirited social scene to Japan’s capital while serving as a gateway to its best attractions, just steps away from the neighborhoods of Roppongi and Toranomon.

We have stayed in several hotels in Tokyo, previously had been Aman Tokyo and this time we wanted to experience the first Janu hotel. Initially, I did have relatively low expectations, because I had emailed them multiple times about reservations for restaurants in Tokyo and after several weeks, and sending message through instagram, I was able to get a response. I was quite shocked as usually any luxury hotel, concierges are quick to respond and when you are in the hotel, there is staff everywhere, so not sure if they check emails or if they have someone dedicated to that. Said that, from the moment you arrive the staff is extremely attentive, which is something common in Japan in any of our stays. The lobby is beautiful and the location is perfect, it is located in the new Azabudai Hills, which is extremely well located and the shopping center attached to the hotel is incredible. I did enjoy the location better than with the Aman. The room was spacious and beautiful appointed. We did not have Tokyo Tower views, but if possible I would recommend getting a room with the views as they are breathtaking. Overall, the views from Aman are more spectacular, but Janu has nice views. I did like the pool and spa area better at Janu. They have a beautiful pool and the onsen area was great with saunas, cold plunge, hot tub etc, we really enjoyed it. The gym was also incredible with any machine imaginable. The breakfast was great with a good variety of options and the cake shop had amazing matcha cake. We absolutely loved our stay, from the friendliness of the staff, location, amenities and food. I would recommend improvement with email interaction, other than that, it was perfect. I would have a difficult time deciding between Aman or Janu for my next stay.

Having had some experiences with the Aman hotel, we were interested to see what this new brand from the group would offer. We are happy to say that Janu exceeded our expectations, and we might even prefer it to Aman Tokyo. We stayed in a city view suite for 2 nights, and the room felt like a small apartment. The view of the iconic Tokyo Tower was breathtaking both day and night. From the moment we arrived, we were well taken care of. Every staff member we encountered was friendly and eager to assist us. When we headed out for an excursion, they offered us water. We had dinner reservation at the somewhat confusing Azabudai Hills shopping complex, and they graciously offered to escort us there. We also needed to pick up an item we had forgotten to bring, and the staff called the store to confirm its availability. They even arranged for the hotel car to take us there at no charge, which was quite impressive. There are several dining options within the hotel. We only tried the afternoon tea at the lounge and dinner at Sumi, which was exceptional and we would love to return. We must make time to visit the spa on our next trip. The well equipped gym and pool facilities looked inviting, but unfortunately, we did not have time to enjoy them. This is definitely a hotel we would stay at again.

Room was ready at 17:00, 2 hours later than expected. Several wrong and inconsistent communications. With the exception of the suites, you only look into gray and old backyards. spa facilities are good and better compared tonpther 5 star japan hotels

From the moment we arrived off a 14 hour flight from London, we were made to feel like honoured guests. It was a perfect beginning to our Japan Adventure. The place is beyond elegant and beautiful….and the Staff are exemplary. Our room was stunning and so comfortable….every little detail was perfect. Breakfasts in the Dining Room were the highlight and we were so exhausted by the evening from sightseeing, we were more than happy to try the Grill Room and the Italian Restaurant. Both were lovely. It’s not a cheap option, but I’m so glad we chose it
