Reviews for Janu Tokyo

fantastic customer service

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 4 weeks ago

We were staying at the Aman hotel and heard of their sister hotel called Janu. We had the opportunity to meet the front desk manager, Raj Singh. He was simply outstanding . He graciously gave us a tour of the hotel and allowed us to visit some rooms . Customer service like this is unmatched . We will be staying there next time we visit Tokyo .

Large well appointed designer rooms, excellent & warm service, out-of-this-world gym

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 1 month ago

We were greeted by name by the Conceirge team at arrival. With our Luggage taken care of by them, we were escorted To the 5th floor where we were met by a senior front office staff and escorted directly to our room. We were placed in a corner room on there 13th floor. We had views of large courtyard, overlooking other buildings. Our room was large. A long wide walkway into the room with cupboards flanking the wall on the right. Into the room with the bed at the end of the walkway. Then a sitting area for two with a hidden TV forming a barrier to the study area. Along the walkway coming in were cupboards with large wooden coat hangers, a safe, bathrobes, bedroom slippers, hairdryer, umbrella. There are two cupboards for his/her stuff or clean clothes/jackets. The cupboard is broken up by a low bench, ideal to work out of an open luggage here. The bedroom had a king sized bed. Bed is just the right balance of comfort vs hardness. There are available plug points for charging your devices. TV remote and a Bose speaker are placed here. Both sides of the bed have light and curtain/blinds control. Right beside the bed are sliding doors leading out to a large Balcony with some outdoor seating. Two low comfortable single seater sofa was placed next to a round table. Some snacks were placed here and also a welcome amenity of fruits. Using the remote provided to bring up the TV, one can watch local and cable TV, chrome cast your phone or connect to your Netflix account. At the other end of the room, a long table with a built in fridge and drawers for cups and tea/coffee is available. The table spans the width of the room. The non-alcoholic drinks in the fridge comes free with the room. The other end of the table has a tablet which communicates with the hotel if you have in room dining or shoe shine requests, amongst a myriad of other info and requests. The toilet is central to the above areas. There are sliding doors that open up into the entrance walkway and the living area. The toilet features double sinks, with wall lights vertically flanking the mirror. A bath tub is also situated here. One could technically watch TV while in the tub. An amenities box with all the stuff you need to make your stay comfortable, including hair band and hair ties, cotton swabs and squares. Hand wash gel and moisturizer is provided. There’s of course shampoo, conditioner and body gel in the shower. There’s option for rain shower or hand held shower head. A stool is also provided in the shower. In the next cubicle is the toilet with full-on Japanese toilet functions. Warm toilet seats, buttons to up/down the toilet seat and washes for your nether regions. We used the gym and it was superbly appointed. I have not seen such a serious gym in a hotel. It has a cage that doubles as hyrox and ninja-warrior training. Lots of free weights and weights machines, wooden clubs, kettle bells, foam rollers, weighted sacks, bands, balls. There are loads of choices for cardio - rowing, elliptical ski, treadmill, cycling. The hotel also runs free classes for guests in the morning. Check the schedule on the in-room iPad. Wife went for Yoga Flow class at 0800hrs; advisable to book early as they limit the number of participants. The swimming pool is also “to die for”, I am told. So make sure you bring your gym and swim gear! We were very impressed with the service of the staff. They were all polite, very happy to help with anything and everything. From the shoe shine team to Conceirge to housekeeping to gym staff to front office team. Kudos to all of them! An example of their willingness to to go the extra mile - at check-out, we told them that we wanted to Ta-Q-bin our luggage to our next hotel. After asking for details, they realized that our next Tokyo booking was nearby and they offered to walk our bags over instead! WOW! Mind blown! We had breakfast at the Grill on 4th floor. Food was good. You can choose set meal or alacarte. The Janu breakfast set was very enjoyable. The servers here are polite and efficient and do their best for a large area and busy meal service. The hotel is part of the new Azabudai Hills development. There is shopping and museums to enjoy. TeamLabs has an exhibit here too. Hibiya line is not far from the hotel and cabs are plentiful. We really enjoyed our stay here. It was a fantastic experience. Great hard product made better by the Janu team.

GREAT hotel

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 2 months ago

OK so the Janu Tokyo could be the best city hotel I have stayed at, and I have been to many 5 star hotels....Service - outstanding, not in your face but universally helpful and pleasant. Room - we had a larger room but wonderful, 2 rooms, 2 balconies, 2 bathrooms. Everything very comfortable and stylish. Usual issues with lights (!) and a few spots on the rugs. Food - breakfasts were awesome in both restaurants, and included. Dinner at the Chinese restaurant was great. Location - in the Azubadai Hills complex near Roppongi was really great. Enjoyed being able to walk out the side door of the hotel to multiple restaurants/coffee shops/stores. Gym - one of the best hotel gyms ever. The locker room too with sauna/cold plunge/steam/Japanese bath and then my wife said the facial was great at the spa. Can't comment on pricing as we booked an all included trip with our travel agent but would love to go back.

Perfect

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 2 months ago

JANU Tokyo impressed us with its passion to perfection. Step from the crowds mall - and you dive into tranquility, relaxation, friendly atmosphere of beautiful design and noble luxury. Great spacious rooms, special atmosphere of afternoon tea on the lobby, stunning city view, excellent well equipped spa, large swimming pool… and every detail is beautiful. People are very friendly, communicative and helpful; the hotel is managed by international team. Definitely number one in Tokyo for me for now

Beautiful stay - hope to return

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 4 months ago

We had a beautiful stay at Janu and hope to go back. The hotel is absolutely stunning, with modern minimalistic design and large rooms with balconies that overlook Azabudai Hills, which itself is gorgeous. You can sit on your balcony and hear birds chirping while admiring the gardens. The food we had was excellent and very reasonably priced for the quality. The team was lovely and so helpful, taking care of details related to a mild injury promptly and seamlessly. They will go above and beyond to take care of you. For international travelers the wellness centre is especially welcome - helping ease get lag quickly and peacefully. It is state of the art and there were a variety of classes offered daily.
