A fitting flagship, Janu Tokyo is connected to the vibrant heart of the Azabudai Hills community – a city within a city, teeming with nature, culture, and art. Thirty years in-the-making, this new dynamic neighborhood thrives in perfect synergy with the values of Janu, seeking to nurture purposeful connection and bring people together. The only hotel within the development, Janu Tokyo introduces 122 light-filled rooms and suites, setting a new benchmark for standards of space, service and experience alike across its eight dining venues and paramount 4,000 sqm wellness center – one of the city’s largest. Through its appreciation of cuisine, art and design, Janu Tokyo will celebrate the city’s rich, cultural fabric, delivering its spirited social scene to Japan’s capital while serving as a gateway to its best attractions, just steps away from the neighborhoods of Roppongi and Toranomon.

Stumbled across this exquisite lounge bar and brasserie and well worth the visit for a special cocktail and awesome night view of the Tokyo Tower. Booking recommended.

I recently returned from a wonderful mother and son trip to Tokyo and decided to stay at Janu Tokyo. We chose Janu Tokyo specifically because of its recent opening and its reputation as a sister property to Aman Resorts. Staying in the new Azabudai Hills area was an excellent decision, as the location is surrounded by high-end shopping like Hermes, Dior, and Cartier. We especially enjoyed the hotel's convenient connection to the main shopping area, grocery market, and food hall, all of which were very easy to navigate. The accommodations were impressive. Our room was thoughtfully designed and spacious; we particularly appreciated the dedicated closet and dressing area for our luggage. The dining options were equally excellent. We found the Japanese breakfast to be outstanding, and the patisserie offered delicious coffee and desserts. We had a fantastic experience and will definitely choose to stay at Janu Tokyo again during our next trip to the city.

While we have stayed at numerous five star hotels around the world, this is the first five star hotel we have visited in Tokyo. This hotel easily eclipsed every New York hotel and tied the very best hotel in Paris - Le Bristol. The physical accommodations are hands down the best we have ever experienced. The very large room (which are visible in photos by other reviewers) exhibits a minimalist aesthetic, yet is equipped with the latest technological advances, including a touch screen tablet with which ordering room service is incredibly fast and efficient. If you are an exercise fanatic, the Janu Wellness centre is a facility we have never seen in a hotel before. It includes a boxing ring, yoga room, golf simulator, extensive weight training area with aerobic conditioning machines and the most magnificent 25 meter indoor pool and jacuzzi. There are male and female changing areas, which have jacuzzis, steam rooms, saunas and cold plunge pools. We realize that service at any hotel is a reflection of the employees one encounters and sometimes an employee may not be having the best day. From beginning to end, our experience at the Janu could not have been any better. Every staff member with whom we interacted was incredibly humble, polite and gracious, in a way which can only be found in Japan. From checking in with Niko, who was extremely friendly and accommodating, to Yuji and Yukiko in the Wellness centre, to Wei at check out and to every other employee whose name we cannot remember, there are no hotels in the world at which we received better service. The location of Janu Tokyo is excellent. While we did not take the subway this time, areas like the Ginza are only a 10-15 minute taxi or Uber ride away. The hotel is part of a new development, which is connected to an upscale shopping mall with sixty restaurants and specialty food stores. The restaurants range from very casual to high end and all can be accessed without going outside in the event of inclement weather. We chose this hotel because some Japanese friends we were visiting live a block from this development and other friends in the US have spoken glowingly about its sister hotel, Aman Tokyo. After leaving a luxurious cruise ship at the completion of a 61 day voyage, we didn’t know what to expect. Suffice it to say that this hotel exceeded all expectations and has become the hotel we definitely intend to return to in Tokyo.

It’s rare that I give one stars for service, but this has been an extremely unpleasant visit. The Japanese staff were wonderful. I was sat at the bar since the tables were full, and the two men manning the bar were the absolute worst waiters I have ever come across in Japan. One was Italian and the other Indian. They were extremely rude and dismissive. I was not given a menu after I sat down and I had to ask for one, once I did, he brought it with a long face. The other Indian staff frowned, rolled his eyes upon speaking with, and had zero respects for customers. The coffee was good but not worth ¥2,000 and the “service” charge. This is not a cafe I reccommend to anyone, especially before they put their attitude straight.

We were staying at the Aman hotel and heard of their sister hotel called Janu. We had the opportunity to meet the front desk manager, Raj Singh. He was simply outstanding . He graciously gave us a tour of the hotel and allowed us to visit some rooms . Customer service like this is unmatched . We will be staying there next time we visit Tokyo .
