It began with a desire to create a truly Japanese hotel with elegance and comfort equal to the world’s best luxury hotels. Hotel Okura originally opened its doors in 1962 guided by this powerful vision. In 2019, The Okura Tokyo marks a new beginning with two distinctly branded wings: the restrained and elegant the Okura Heritage and the Okura Prestige, a modern, urban hotel. The Okura Tokyo is suffused with the refined and elegant Japanese aesthetic and a commitment to providing Japanese-style hospitality to each and every guest. We are waiting to serve you with our unique version of Japanese hospitality.

Stylish and elegant hotel slightly outside the most crowded areas of Tokyo. 5 star service and spacious rooms. Easy to get subway or taxi to the key neighborhoods. Lovely spa and pool area. Good restaurant and drinks. We will stay here again.

We stayed at the Okura on our last night in Japan in an Okura Prestige room. The room was very spacious with a magnificent view from the 31st floor. While we were out for dinner they laid out pyjamas, placed bed rugs and chocolats. The hotel staff was very welcoming and the bellhop gave us a tour of our room. We opted for the buffet style breakfast which was fantastic. I would definitely stay again at The Okura.

Gorgeous mid-century design all around the hotel. Service is impeccable! Rooms are very spacious and has all the amenities you would need. Our view from the room overlooked the Tokyo tower. The two restaurants we dined offered delicious meals and wonderful, friendly service. The breakfast buffet was amazing! Definitely recommend this hotel. Also situated in a very nice area. The hotel grounds has a secret garden that is a nice relaxing feel after a long day out on the town.

Hands down, an amazing hotel. top notch service, wonderfully appointed rooms and amenities. rooms- large and well decorated. beautiful bathrooms with a separate steam shower service- A+ all around breakfast buffet- wonderful selection of both Japanese and Western cuisine bars- beautiful bar/lounge with wonderful views of the city grounds- pristine with an attached garden which should be enjoyed location- close to 2 subway lines and many restaurants. no shopping but that wasn't an issue. gym- large on the top floor with panoramic views. they will even rent you gym clothes if needed. Cannot recommend this hotel enough.

Okura suppose to be famous for its service this business hotel is not! We booked via LHW, as part of the benefits we are entitled to request a pre-arrival upgrade, we did do this in December-24 and the stay was in May-25. We did not hear from them anymore. One week before arriving we received an email that the pre-arrival upgrade was not given due to the availability. We noticed the next category was still available. We sent a mail to the support team of LHW and they said that the hotel was fully booked and no upgrade could be given, even requested months in advance. When we sent an email to the hotel we received an extremely unfriendly email back. Stated: " you booked the highest category to be upgraded and we discussed with management to give you an upgrade but they decided not to do so". When we arrived the receptionist informed me that they could not give the upgrade because the next category is fully booked, when I asked if we otherwise would get an upgrade he said "yes that's part of the benefits". I hear several stories..... Before our arrival I emailed the concierge to get some recommendations of restaurants in the area. It took 2 emails before someone replied. The bed is uncomfortable. Very hard pillows. I woke up every morning with a headache. Upon arrival no welcome drink, no welcome gift in the room, not complimentary water in the room. This is so strange for a 5-star deluxe hotel. We had a corner room on one of the lower floors. The view is ok, better on the higher floors and the room is very business oriented. No personal touch. Breakfast is awful. The service is extremely bad. When we arrived in the breakfast area, we had to wait for 5 minutes in line. One of the guests was not standing properly in line and she was yelled at, by one of the staff members, that she had to stay in line. She left the line and walked away. We were also not standing completely in line, we were standing next to each other and we were also shouted at that we have to stay in line. Other days we also stood in line, before we were given a table, while half of the restaurant was empty. We had breakfast included and this means you get vouchers. Welcome in 2025. When we had coffee at the bar we had to pay EUR 12 for 1 cup without cake or something small. We stayed at Four Seasons Otemachi as well and there the coffee was much cheaper, better and you get some biscuits with it. In the Okura plain coffee for EUR 12 (YEN 2,000). The pool is not inviting. You can only swim in lanes and the chairs do face the city. Towels on the chairs are not changed when someone is leaving, although there is supervision. We decided not to dine here. Busses stop at the entrance. It is a real business hotel, do not go here for a holiday. Do not stay here if you like good service. The area is nice, but the service is bad. The hotel is far from the metro system. We love Okura Amsterdam, but avoid Okura Tokyo on our next trip.
