The Okura Tokyo

We stayed at The Okura Tokyo and really enjoyed our time here. The rooms were spacious, very clean, and comfortable by Tokyo standards, with great views across the city — bathrooms with big windows were a nice touch too. Service throughout the hotel was warm and attentive, from check-in to housekeeping and concierge, and staff made an effort to accommodate our requests. Breakfast had a good variety of options and was consistently mentioned by other guests as one of the highlights. Facilities like the pool, spa/fitness area, and bar added to a relaxed stay, and the hotel feels calm and elegant without being fussy. The location is convenient for exploring Tokyo and close to transport links, though it’s a bit quieter than some busier districts. Overall, a solid 5-star stay — very comfortable rooms, excellent service, and a pleasant atmosphere. Would stay again.

Just stayed at the Okura Tokyo in Toranomon and we will not stay anywhere else again when visiting Tokyo. I was absolutely blown away by firstly the style of this hotel. The pristine mid century lobby was something out of a Wes Anderson movie. Every time we wound walk through it we would remark how beautiful it was - we were taken back in time in a way. We stayed in the Heritage wing and could not have had better service or a better room. Small touches such as the welcome tea/snack, a box of small gifts, turn down service, complementary j-beauty products etc made the stay feel special. The room was comfortable and pristinely clean. Having visited Tokyo several times, I loved the location outside of the busy central Tokyo areas; it felt quiet and calm, yet only a short subway or taxi ride away from those spots when we wanted to visit. Cannot wait to return.

This was my fourth stay in Tokyo and this time we chose to stay in the Okura - the Heritage Wing to be more precise. It was amazing. The corner room was fabulous - large and comfortable, with all the amenities you would expect, and a steam room. There were plenty of friendly staff, who were always on hand to help and answer questions; we never had to wait to speak to anyone. And everyone went the extra mile. I loved the bar too, and the Japanese restaurant was incredible. I'm so pleased we tried that. The main part of the hotel is worth a mention too. The lobby is stunning. It looks as though it has been lifted out of a James Bond movie; it is just beautiful. The whole place was so friendly, calm and peaceful, and so fabulously efficient, I could easily have stayed another week. Nothing was too much trouble, and we were completely spoiled. Obviously, I can now never stay anywhere else in Tokyo!

This hotel is even better than perfect! I felt welcomed, before my taxi came to a stop. Four uniformed bellmen were there to open taxi door and get luggage. English was spoken. The same welcome was given my granddaughter who arrived hours later. The room had a magnificent view of the city. The bathroom was well appointed and included every imaginable accoutrement. We ordered room service for dinner. It arrived on a wheeled-table, with white linen napkins. The food was full of flavor. Breakfast the following morning was second to only one other breakfast in my lifetime! It ranked first with my granddaughter. We were not rushed through breakfast and enjoyed every morsel. Kudos and more!

Incredible property. Highlight of trip. Be sure to stay on the Heritage side (much nicer than prestige). We had a great time. Only two criticisms: 1. Onsen / gym is shared with the Okura’s outside club, meaning it’s also used by non-hotel residents who can be unpleasant 2. The drinks served at bars are not good and really need improvements. This was a let down for a high quality hotel
